How is the overall Hackintosh user experience in 2021?

Would you say a stable OS with no "why the hell did that suddenly stop working" events is reasonably easily achievable? Assuming best practices/choices for hardware, installation, etc. (Outside of major OS version updates, of course.)

How is the overall Hackintosh user experience in 2021?

The last time I had a hackintosh must have been 10-12 years ago. I distinctly recall hardware support, and OS updates being a constant source of pain. Since then I've owned nothing but Apple laptops/iMacs, but have experienced significant hardware problems with each one within ~3 years. The...

Opinions: should I hackintosh, or stick to native Apple hardware?

Writing to again thank you guys for your input. Lots of great points all around. no audio since F8 upgrade ga-p55a-ud4p

I fixed my audio issues. The problem was being caused by some kind of conflict between the LegacyHDA + HDAEnabler and VoodooHDA (which I had installed previously). VoodooHDA-only worked for USB audio, but not built-in audio. VoodooHDA + LegacyHDA & HDAEnabler = Kernel Panic during bootup...

no audio since F8 upgrade ga-p55a-ud4p

Sorry to bump up an old~ish thread, but I'm also having issues with the same motherboard. I used to run 10.6.4 and had sound working just fine. Recently did a clean install and upgraded to 10.6.5. Also updated my bios to F14. Since then, no sound. System Prefs -> Sound shows my Logitech USB...
