I have a Z490 Vision D build, running Ventura 13.6.3. Opencore 0.92. I also flashed the Thunderbolt chip and am successfully running with the Apple Thunderbolt Display and Intel 630 graphics.
What I have problems with: the camera on the Thunderbolt display works fine, and I can run with that...
Which build? The Vision G (Z490 or Z590) does not come with Thunderbolt ports. The Vision D Z490 has been discontinued by Gigabyte. There is a whole other thread on the Z590 which has a lot of work on the Z590 Vision D
So I recently had an email exchange with Gigabyte support in which I was told that the Z490 Vision D has been discontinued and is out of production, replaced with the Z590 Vision D. This was a little bit of a bummer for me, I had RMA'd my original board and was in the middle of shopping for a...
I did jumper the top & middle pins on the PCI card. I tried moving it between slots as well, and I still can't get it to be recognized so maybe it is just not functional. I'll return it and try again.
Re flashing the onboard controller: that is the programmer and clip that I tried, I was unable...
Hi, so, I have semi-successfully built a Vision D system, pretty minimal at this point, 32GB RAM & 1TB NVMe. I am trying to get it to work with an Apple Thunderbolt Display (I know...) using the Apple Thunderbolt adapter.

What OS version are you running? I built a very similar system
with OS 10.10.1 initially, and had some flakiness, just upgraded

Hi,
I've been following this and other Thunderbolt related discussions as I'm
considering doing a build, I currently have a Thunderbolt Apple Cinema Display
and would like to continue to use that if possible, at least for the
display capabilities, the camera, sound & other ports are less...
Well of course I may have spoke too soon - it looks
like Gigabyte has added that CPU to the support
list for some of their Z87 boards including the
GA-Z87M-D3H - so you should be good to go!
again, let us know how it goes :)
Something along these lines is probably
what I'll build next too..
You'll probably want to review other posts as well,
the safest bet is to go with a build & method
that other people have tried that works
(known good) The one caveat that catches
my eye is that on Amazon they say that
the 4790K is not compatible with Z87
boards, only Z97. You probably want
to...
