    Watercooled G5 Hackintosh.

Thank you. I don't know the temps on the CPU, since they change depending on the program I use to monitor them with. The GPU has fallen with around 30-40degrees though, including a small vmod on it. I have overclocked the GPU/CPU also, and they seem very cool still.

Just need to get the rear I/O done, and to make an IR receiver. Everything else is done, and have been running Lion for a week or two. To-do: Make IR receiver, solder I/O panel on, place PCI card in machine.

Rear fans are done. They're just waiting on the glue to harden.

I could do that, but I decided to do it this way. They look "OK" IRL, and are my only external mod to the case.

    Flatfoot's Power Mac G5-i7 [DONE]

Re: Flatfoot's PowerMac G5-i7 Hi, I think you didn't have to cut up the rear part, since there is room for two 92mm. fans, if you just choose the right ones. I have ordered two: There "ought" to be room for them, with some 2mm. :shifty:

    Watercooled G5 Hackintosh.

Small, somewhat boring update. First of all, no pictures this update, since I lost my camera on my vacation. :banghead: Anyways, the build is all done nearly, except I need a few items for my water-cooling to arrive. I had a little trouble with my front-audio jack, but I discovered the...

    disabling jack detection

The Voodoo 2.7 I think it was, made me able to select what audio output I wanted. I then pressed alt+sound (at the top right bar), and could select wether I wanted front audio out, or rear. I was having concerns about having soldered anything wrong, but my machine is cruising atm. :). I hope...

I'm thinking of getting my case a clearcoat af laquer on the outer side, and keeping the mesh stock. Anyone with a thought on this? I think it might look good, but perhaps I should just stick to the standard appearance. Hm.. Anyone with some nice PS skils?

Yea, its a nice option, but where to put the HDD then, as you mention? I would like to fit another PSU in the original G5 PSU casing, but I hvan't been able to find an empty one. Maybe it will show up, later on in my build?. Hm.. I think I'd better take a closer look at the PSU...

Hi flatfoot, I also had the thought of suspending it inside the case, but decided this was a more convenient method for my liking. This is coursed by the future placement of my PSU, where I will suspend the PSU in the upper part of the case, just below my optical drive. If you have any good...

Backside I/O After a lot of concideration on how to make my backport I/O work, I opted to go for a "cut-out" of a defective G5 motherboard. It turned out to be the cheapest option for me aswell. The part I will be getting, is the part I have lined out here: Cut-out I will then make wires...

    Watercooled G5 Hackintosh.

Since there is no internal firewire on my motherboard, I decided to buy a PCI firewire/USB card. I did this, since there are firewire sockets on the casing, and I want everything to be working, if it is on the case. :ugeek: PCI card I also wanted to be able to use bluetooth objects from my...

Making the WiFi "happen" Since I wanted native airport support (or what name it has) I decided to make my "own" pci wifi card. I made it from buying an adapter card on Ebay, and placing an original Apple WiFI card in it. The WiFI card

Since there is no "eject-button" on the outside of the G5, I made a small switch, on the backside of my DVD drive. I will have to take the sidepanel of my G5, But it should only be needed when installing OSX on my PC. :P

A small picture, showing the front of my G5 casing, with some umbraco screws, taken from 2 G4's I had "laying around." I don't think it ruins the front, but it would be prettier without them I think.
