I finally fixed the freeze issue on my NUC. :headbang:
The problem was RAM voltage, I bought low-voltage RAM for Haswell processor which were pretty instable on a ivy-bridge processor. I changed the voltage from 1.35 to 1.5 and no more freeze.
Anyway thank you davids74 for trying to help me. :)
I changed the voltage of my RAM from 1.35 to 1.5 (can't do higher) and I didn't have any freeze for 5 hours this morning. Before I had freezes every 30 minutes to 2 hours so I think it solved the problem. I will keep you informed when I will have another freeze.
Thank you so much mpulse. :)
Thanks for replying.
Can you just tell me your bios version and if you're using wifi or the thunderbolt to ethernet adapter.
The strange fact about my freezes is that I'm the only one who is experiencing that. I mean I didn't see a single person with a NUC complaining about freezes. I don't know...
Apparently we all have the same problem but with different builds, that must be Mavericks' fault. I hope someone will get a fix soon.

I have this problem on my NUC DC3217BY too. Really annoying. :-(
I just think it has nothing to do with network in my case because I didn't download any t*****t and the freezes happen randomly
Thanks for replying :)
I've never downloaded a t*****t on my hackintosh build. My nuc has no network driver as it has a thunderbolt to ethernet adapter. Any other ideas?
Hello there. I have big troubles with my new Mavericks installation.
My Intel NUC runs perfectly but unfortunately I have random crashes and freezes every 30 minutes to 2 hours so I have to hard shut down it which is really annoying. First I thought the cause was Flash player but it wasn't...
user786 :d) Just follow the guide http://www.tonymacx86.com/mavericks-desktop-support/115529-dc3217by-mavericks-install-guide.html#post743196
Hey there, I have my nuc working perfectly from sound to icloud but unfortunately I have random freezes and crashes about every 30 minutes to 2 hours...
Yes I do but the volume button of my monitor is very cheap and for my comfort of use I would prefer to adjust the volume directly from my keyboard. :)
EDIT: Now I have several problems... My system goes extremely laggy sometimes like I can't control the mouse cursor. It freezes randomly. This...
Oh ok. So even this method ( https://github.com/toleda/audio_hdmi_uefi )won't make the volume control over HDMI possible?
Is there anyway to get rid of this limitation?
Hello there!
Thank you very much for this guide davids, my NUC works flawlessly after 2 days of intense struggling.
I just have a minor issue with the sound. I do have input sound but I can't adjust the volume.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix it?
Thank you again!
