Hi,
I have I9 and a giga z490 and am struggling with trying to get Sonoma (Luddite here). Cannot even get the USB to mount. I have Catalina running now. Do I have the bios not set up for Sonoma or am I doing something fundamentally wrong

Your text says giga Z390 but your description at left says Z490. Which is it? And can you describe what happens in more detail?
Hi wstrohm,

Yeah silly mistake sorry, yup z490.
I have made a USB stick and when selected it starts to load then after about 4-5 mins a few white lines appear towards the top of the screen (like horizontal scratch marks), that is as far as I have got. Tried re doing the USB but had the same result.

Did you make a full installer of Sonoma using Apple's "makeinstallmedia" procedure? And you have an EFI folder in the correct partition of your USB drive? If so, could you upload the (zipped) EFI folder here, after deleting your serial numbers in Platforminfo/Generic?

Hi,
Will do it as soon as I get back, on the road for a couple of days. Hope that is not a problem. I do appreciate you are attempting to help resolve my problem.

Hi @wstrohm,

Yes I made it according to guides found here on Tony.

Attached is the folder, thanks in advance for any assistance

need to have a "config.plist"
Yes, the titles of your various "alternate" plists will not be recognized by OpenCore. You need at least one titled "config.plist" or nothing will happen.

Looking at your EFI folder...

EFI/OC

1. Some notes about /ACPI folder:
1a. SSDT-AWAC-DISABLE.dsl note says it is for 300-series only, and you have a Z490.
1b. SSDT-DTGP.dsl is not listed in OpenCore-0.9.9-RELEASE package and therefore the .aml version is not in /Docs/AcpiSamples/Binaries either.
1c. Same as above for SSDT-TB3HP.aml, SSDT-USB-Ports-Z490-VisionD.aml, and SSDT-SUBW.aml. No reference for these in the OpenCore release package. (I understand that the USB-related stuff may come from external sources, but just FYI.)

2. /Kexts: Many I do not recognize... my ignorance, sorry.

Not much help here; sorry. Maybe if you decide on a config.plist...
