HP Elitebook 840 G6 (i5-8365U) MacOS Ventura 13.6 on OpenCore 0.9.5

Thank you for your work. Just got one of this unit and installed Ventura. One issue I have is the trackpad sensitivity and cursor movement range. Just wonder if you experienced the same.

When using the trackpad, the range of the cursor movement is too small, not sufficient to cover the entire screen. So I had to move my figure 2-3 times to move across the screen from one end to other. This is very inefficient for a trackpad. Under Windows, the same trackpad is smooth, fast and responsive, acting like the way it should be. While under macOS, it seemed to loss the sensitivity and range. I wonder if this is a driver issue or something that could be adjusted under macOS (I did increase the "tracking speed" setting to maximum, which gave a small improvement, not far from adequate). So far, this is the only issue I had with this unit, to a point that I had to use a moue instead.

I also owned Dell Latitude 5400/7490, and their trackpad works just like they were running Windows.

Anyone experienced similar issue?

Thanks!

hi there, I got the same issue with the trackpad sensitivity, but cursor movement seemed fine. I had ventura and tested it for several days, eventually, got used to the slower sensitivity, which I set at max. Later, i;ve update to somona with macOS update and broken the system. Left it for a while and now, i am reinstalling ventura. i intent to keep ventura permanently.

Hello there!
I tried to install Ventura on the same type of laptop as yours using the EFI you attached.

However, I couldn't get pass the booting process. See the image attached.

What could be the issue, please?

hi, i used the same attached EFI and booted fine. Make sure to update the plist file, as it had some missing things there, such as CPUFriendDataProvider.kext (obviously, you need to add it in the OC>KEXTS folder) and something else. also, update SMBIOS with a new serial, etc. But before that, have you updated the BIOS accordingly?

Thank you for your response. Could you please share your EFI with me so I can compare and make ammendments? As per the SMBIOS and BIOS, I've already taken care of them. Thank you.
