This CPU is coming out around the corner, and I'm looking for a build around it. I would like the motherboard to be as cheap as possible without OC but with TB3 which i need on Mac. I only need to run onboard graphic with it or use it with my old hd 6870 before next generation graphics come out. I heard there is a way to use RTX cards as well... So a mb that is okay with doing that i guess?? I really don't know what is possible here tbh... my last hackintosh build was with sandy bridge and I only followed someones instruction here. :D Pretty much a noob all over again haha.

Please let me know if any of you are looking to build around this CPU. And what mb are you looking to build it with. I just need TB3 tbh. And most popular mb would be good coz there will be alot of people coming out with guides on it.

After some research I'm looking at these

I7 10700
Gigabyte H470M DS3H (seems cheap and it has thunderbolt 3 AIC support)
Corsair vengence RGB 32GB
Sabrent Rocket Q 2TB NVME PCIe M.2 2280 SSD
Gigabyte Alpine Ridge Thunderbolt 3 pcie addin card

These are the the parts I'm looking at so far.. if the motherboard and the add in card becomes closer to $300 then I would switch to Gigabyte Z490 Vision D motherboard,...

What you guys think?

Only 2020 MacBook Air models use the 10th-generation Intel Core now, and all GeForce 2000 series cards are unsupported in any version of macOS.

Well, the 10th gen CPUs will be soon supported. Heck even tho Ryzen CPUs can run hackintosh now..
As for RTX nvidia cards.. I heard people made it work but sure. Im not really looking forward to tweaking that lol.. the nightmare could last for months literally

I would not be so sure, not until Apple uses the Comet Lake CPUs in their Macs anyway.

Personally I do think the Comet Lake CPUs should be able to run MacOS, seeing that even MacOS Sierra 10.12.6 from more than 2 years ago can run on 9th generation (Coffee Lake Refresh) CPUs. But we won't know for sure whether the Comet Lake CPUs will run MacOS until someone get the hardware and test for it.

And will the Alpine Ridge Thunderbolt 3 card work in the new system? Another unknown.

I get your idea with going for H470 instead of Z490. The prices difference could be quite large, given the amount of power needed on th Z-boards to power to K processors.

But the board, you are specifiyng doesn't have a Thunderbolt port, does it? I can't see it mentioned on the product page.

The 13'' MacBook Pro was updated and now supports 10th gen but only on the $1800 model up.So at least that's a start. If they update the iMac line then things should be good for us....

Nope the board itself does not come with TB port.

The board supports thunderbolt 3 AIC. It's hidden in the specification page. :D

They are not making it easy, are they:)

This is the confirmation that Gigabyte H470M DS3H, MICRO ATX motherboard is working in conjunction with GC Gigabyte Titan Ridge rev.2 out of the box, without any special kext.I just install the Thunderbolth software from the CD of motherboard and after, activated in the bios.

Conclusion

Good motherboard for Intel 10Th gen.
Stable dual boot windows 10&Mac OS X Catalina 10.5.7
Thunderbolt support

p.s.
First, turn on the sound card, after the pc if you want to have Thunderbolth to work
Hi. I have the exact same configuration but I just can't make it work. Would you be so kind to send me your EFI folder so that I can test it?

Well, thx for the files but my case is a bit different. I have only iGPU (UHD 630) and I have normal SSD (not NVME), so this config does not work for me at all. When I try to boot, I only get black screen with a lot of plus signs +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++, and after that nothing. I think I need to change the config file, but I can't find anywhere here the right values for patching. Does anyone know what my config should look like?
