Hi,

its my first hackintosh build out of the great advices here in this forum here. thanks!!!
the first month i ran on the igpu of my 8700k on 10.14.3 and yesterday i insert a rx 580 and updated to 10.14.4

the rx 580 shows up in "about my mac" but final cut pro x doesnt render using the rx 580.
just the cpu load goes up. the rx 580 stays idle. :-/

my specs:
- Asus ROG Strix z370-G
- i7-8700K
- SAPPHIRE Radeon RX 580 PULSE
- OSX 10.14.4 (gestern geupdatet von 10.14.3)

=> h.264 encoding "Apple Device 1080p"

i played a bit with multibeast, enabled whatevergreen ... doesnt help.

VideoProc doesnt show the rx 580 ... no hardware acc available. Graphicscard: NA
Geekbench got the rx 580 and the GPU-load goes up while benchmarking.

do you have any advice???

thanks a lot

This issue has been discussed extensively in this thread:

What I have done to get hardware acceleration working is:

- Change SMBIOS to iMacPro1,1
- Disable iGPU in BIOS
- I removed WhatEverGreen and applied Rename PEGP to GFX0 patch in config
- Applied Graphics Policy patch in config to overcome black screen on boot issue.
- Added dummy kext in the kexts/Other folder.

Though you can leave WhateverGreen kext and skip steps 2 and 3 as the kext does that automatically.

Thank you. I tried your tipps but, to be honest, i didnt get i all.

i changed the smbios via multibeast du iMacPro 1,1
i disabled iGPU in Bios
i kept whatevergreen because i dont know where to change the PEGP to GFX0 :roll2:
i downloaded a dummy141.kext file from a asien webpage ... didnt find a download here..
perhaps that is the problem.

can you please give me a link to the dummy.kext and can you please give me some more details to this point
"- Applied Graphics Policy patch in config to overcome black screen on boot issue. "

thank you

@Ik4rus, please update your profile (account details) with your Motherboard, CPU and iGPU or Graphics Card(s).

Try the attached EFI folder. Back up your current folder before trying the new one. Also, if you are signed in to iCloud, iMessage, and FaceTime, then they might stop working so you can either sign out of these services. You can also just modify the settings in your config to what I have done in the attached file.

I have made changes in ACPI, Graphics, and Kernel and Kext patches section.

Wow, thank you very much! :)

We got a step further I think. With your EFI Folger VideoProc now got the "RX 580" in the overview in the top instead of "NA"! ... but still the hardware acceleration isn't available

is there something else I have to do after using your EFI folder?
