after lots of tinkering i for it to where I can boot it ( most of the time )

the problem is OS X does not see the WiFi. the board is Z270I Gaming Pro Carbon AC

The WiFi card is an Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265, bluetooth 4.2

Intel WiFi is not supported.
is there a workaround?
or a wifi mini card that is supported?

it's an m.2 2230 port

I use and recommend this, see
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/neilharts-scratch-build-sff-case-project-my-way-21.250089/
post # 10 for photos.

The Airport card is from Amazon/Bestcompu New Airtport WiFI Bluetooth Card BCM94360CS2 and the M.2 adapter is from Amazon/Hobbypower BCM94360CS2/BCM94322aPCIEBT2 Card to NGFF(M.2) Key A/E adapter for Mac OS.

Please note the solution is a piggy-back solution that is taller then the original M.2 WiFi/BT card that does not work with macOS.
I leave the cover off and do not bother trying to fabricate something that small. I have used this solution on three systems and with this Gigabyte Z370N WiFi and High Sierra 10.13.4, it was OOB for me.

Good modding,
neil
