I have my RX580 working flawlessly on a fresh boot with WhateverGreenKext + Lilu. Shows up as 580 Pro in about this mac, LuxMark is 13k, Cinebench is 140.

The problem is after the OS is running for a while the card starts running at half speed somehow. Luxmark is in the 3k range and cinebench is at 70-90.

I have saw other people booting to their internal GPU first that seems to have solved it by I am on a x299 and there is no internal GPU.

Any thoughts?

What smbios are you using?

Try 18,3 and also put nVidiaGraphicFixup.kext in your efi folder to get rid of the black screen issue.

If 18,3 doesn’t work well try 17,1 as well.

I am on SMBios iMacPro1,1 as it runs smoother for the X299 platform. Nvidiagraphicfixup.kext is installed and I do not get black screen issues.

"facepalm"
You do realize that using nVidiaGraphicFixup with a AMD GPU does nothing at all correct?

You are not having black screen issues because you are using the correct kext, whatevergreen + lilu. Please remove the nvidiagraphicsfixup. The issue is probably other crap you have from using things you shouldn't be using. Upload your whole EFI folder and I can take a look.

Well you need to look in the mirror and then do another facepalm because nVidiaGraphicFixup fixes the black screen issue with RX cards as well as nVidia for 6,1-17,1-18,x (especially multiple monitor on RX cards)

This allows you to not run the AGDPfix or modify any system files in that regard.

Next time be informed before you make a reply like that.

Some RX ... users tell that, after running once an video player app (doenst matter which) this happens - 1/2 speed until reboot.
I dont have this with my RX 460 (Sierra), WEG and SMBIOS 13,2.
Can be some video realted things - and i think HS only.

@mitch_de I will check this out and see. I was wondering if something was triggering it as sometimes it would last quite a while before happening.

There is no need to use this kext with any AMD RX card to fix black screen issues, all you need is Whatevergreen + Lilu. Even with multi-monitor setups, have a look in the code for that kext and you will see that it only support Nvidia based cards, so I will repeat myself again. It does nothing for AMD cards. If you are having black screen issues or even AppleGraphicsPowerManagement (AGPM) or (AGDP as you say)issues with RX AMD cards then you probably are doing something wrong or injecting the wrong framebuffer. So next time make sure you know what you are talking about before giving false information. Also if you paid attention you would have noticed that he is using the new iMac Pro 1,1 SMBIOS so those SMBIOS that you pointed out are useless.

You must be new to hackintoshes.

Without the AGDPfix or the nvidia fixup my hdmi port does not work on my RX560. It’s completely black.

I chose the kext route because I do not want to modify system files.
