Does this actually work? ASUS USB 3.1 TYPE-A CARD

It's on the list of approved accessories. I purchased it after successfully upgrading my GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3 to Sierra and losing USB 3.0 on that board. I worked through all the stuff regarding Generic USB 3.0 and got nowhere. (Also saw where a couple people managed to get the Etron-based USB 3.0 working on the MB, but it didn't work for me.) I didn't see any sign on the forums that anyone has gotten this Asus USB 3.1 Type-A card to work. My old eyes read the chip identifier as ASM1142, but I don't see anyone using that chip either on the forums.

just installed the Asus USB 3.1 Type A on my GA z68x ud3h. The onboard chip did not work with Sierra.

I put it into an 16x PCIe port as the others are only 1x. The card is 4x
Works oob on 10.12.2 Sierra
I only have a 3.0 hub in my LG monitor and a 3.0 card reader to test. therefore could not test full 3.1 functionality really.
With a SD extreme pro rated 160 MB/s CF Card with raw photos I could reach a max read from the sd card of 120 mb/s.
The system shows:

Just plugged one on my GA-Z68XP-UD3P (rev. 1.0, at first it got stucked on the boot screen if any USB 3 device is plugged in. Didn't see my card reader neither after booting into OSX but as soon as i turned on my external dock, everything poped up on my desktop

finally i can run USB 3 and 2 without my computer rebooting !

Actually, i swapped the ASUS for the ASRock USB 3.1/A+C which gives USB-C port as well for cheaper.
