I've tried various guides, including one popular one linked not far below in this forum, to boot Win 7 installer in UEFI. I keep coming across errors, the latest of which is about \EFI\Microsoft\Boot\BCD and a status 0xc000000d

Some windows guides suggest that you enable "Enabled legacy ROMs" on the motherboard, but surely that defeats the point?

All suggestions on how to get me being able to dual boot UEFI Win 7 alongside my UEFI non-legacy Sierra very welcome!

The Windows installer is a Legacy boot installer if it has both Legacy and UEFI installation files in it - requires CSM/Legacy Boot to be enabled to boot the USB.
Insert USB, boot to UEFI and enable CSM/Legacy Boot, save&exit
During the POST hit the Function hot key that allows you to select a boot device - the USB should be listed twice: first with just a port listing, then with UEFI in front of the port. Select the UEFI version to install.

Hey, thanks so much for the info, much appreciated.

I managed to boot from USB after setting the motherboard options to just "optimised defaults".

The resultant windows install though, doesn't appear to boot from UEFI, at least there's no UEFI option for it, just something called "Windows boot manager". If I allow it to go through to Clover rather than asking the MoBo to list boot options, Clover shows a couple of NTFS partitions such as "Boot Windows from EFI" but they seem legacy.

Not sure what I did wrong here, but will try to persevere a little longer.
