Hi everyone. Long time listener, first time caller. I'm finally ready to take the plunge and build my first Hackintosh. I'm pretty excited and ready for the challenge.

Here is a quote I received from my local computer shop, does it looks like this will work as a hackintosh?

Thanks for the help!

In order to use dual channel memory you should use two DIMMS not one.
2 x 4GB not 1 x 8GB.

Looks like everything should be compatible with macOS 10.12.6
Is this computer shop building it for you or are they just sending you the individual components ?
You could ask them to give you a bundle discount if you are assembling it yourself.

I'm planning on using 4 x 8 - I assume that will work?

Thank you! It really helps to have a second opinion here! To be honest, I'm not sure yet. I'm waiting on a couple of changes to the build (32 GB of ram not 8GB) and a better case. And that was one of my questions. Any case recommendations?

Of course it will (assuming it is on the QVL for your motherboard) but your specification is for 1 x 8GB DIMM not 4.

The Fractal Define R5 is a well built, quiet ATX case you could consider for this build.

The Fractal Define R5
oooh that is nice. To be honest, I thought all of the noise factors came from the fans - I didn't know the case could affect the noise level. I'll look into this case. Thanks again.

It's also massive and seriously heavy! Great case for a serious build but not if you're looking for compact and light!
