Hi all. I first want to say I've really appreciated all of the incredible information in these forums. They have helped me pull together a stable hackintosh with little difficulty to date. While I am up and running and stable following both the buying guide and installation guide here on the site, I have a couple of issues I haven't been able to troubleshoot as of yet.

#1 - Bluetooth is detected on the GA-H97N-WIFI but I can't pair/connect any devices with it.
#2 - Audio crackles whenever any audio initiates.

Let's start with the Bluetooth Issue:

This board is supposed to support Bluetooth out of the box. That wasn't the case for me. I saw others comment in the forums that removing the Intel NIC driver and switching to LAN2 with the Aetheros drive would allow bluetooth to function. This did work in my case - allowing bluetooth to be detected but it doesn't seem to work.

Here is the output from System Report for my Bluetooth stack:

I will also attach a few screencaps from my verbose boot:

In terms of the audio issue, the quality is fine and once audio is running, there are no issues. It's really noticeable when system sounds happen. I get the crackle at the beginning of every system sound. Minor annoyance.

Here is my MultiBeast config:

Since this installation happened, I made the following changes:

- Removed AppleIntelE1000e
- Installed AtherosE2200Ethernet v1.0.0
- Re-installed ALC892
- Installed FakeSME v6.11.1328 Plugins
- Installed FakeSME v6.11.1328 HWMonitor Application

Any thoughts you might have would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Cheers,

Jim

Just as an update to this thread, I have managed to get a device to pair with the machine (a set of bluetooth headphones) but it still doesn't appear to work. It's very odd. It won't even stay connected unless I hold the headphones VERY close to the computer which is approximately 2.5 feet to the left of me.

Could it not be broadcasting with enough power? To this point I am unable to pair a bluetooth mouse (Magic Mouse) and continue to use a USB Logitech mouse.

Update on the audio issue also. I saw some folks indicate that they were forced to use the black port on the back of the GA-H97N-WIFI to get audio working. Initial tests forced me to do the same. In referring to the manual, that's the rear speakers output if you had a surround config. For 2 channel audio you should be using the green output (which is normal). The issue is that the outputs aren't described very well in OS X under audio preferences. Switching the cable to the green port and switching the OS X output to "Internal Speakers" seems to have resolved my cracking audio problem.

Fingers crossed.

If I can get this bluetooth issue solved, I'm going to be very happy, even without iMessage (which I'm not even going to try to use until the bright minds in the community figure out).

Cheers!

Jim

Hah. I found the solution to my bluetooth issue. It's embarrassing, but I will post it nonetheless.

I didn't have the antenna connected to the GA-H97N-WIFI. I guess I equated antenna with WiFi and not with Bluetooth. Silly me.

The moment I plugged the antenna in and positioned it at desk height, I was up and running with my Magic Mouse.

You just saved me too. Bluetooth was really dodgy and wouldn't really connect - I thought that antenna was wifi only, which I don't use. Just connected it and now bluetooth is fine. Thanks man!
