I've got a HP Envy 15 k031tx and I've been trying to boot into the snow leopard DVD using iBoot Haswell, I got into iBoot, but after I changed the DVD and pressed enter, the grey apple logo screen appeared for a sec before the whole computer restarts. I tried to type all the commands in the iboot guide, but none works. Does anyone know a solution for this?

THe notebook has i7-4510U and GTX850M, the DVD is 10.6.3

For help with laptop problems it is best to post in the laptop forum.

SL has no support for the GTX850M, so best to go into UEFI and disable discrete GPU until you have finished installation. If the UEFI is locked to the GTX and you cannot reset it in UEFI to the iGPU and disable the GTX, nv_disable=1 would be boot-arg I would try first.

It is going to be a challenge to get a modern laptop running Snow Leopard.
Better to start at something much newer (eg. 10.11 or 10.12).
Your laptop has a guide (you will need access to a Mac or working hack):

Thanks so much!

Um... This guide seems to be not working for me as I don't have any Macs around that I can get the system files (My school and friends all use Windows PCs), so I have to use iboot to boot into the snow leopard DVD. Is there anything I can do that might solve the problem?

I've disabled all virtualization functions and enabled CSM.

Did you try safe mode?
