Developing on your hackintosh (Xcode/iOS/Cocoa)

I am developing all of my iOS apps in my hackintosh and never had any problems.

I also have a developer license , tested and submitted to the appstore with no problems.

Running ML 10.8.2 with Xcode Version 4.5.2, hope that helps.

I'm currently taking an iOS Development class and some classmates have had success on real Macs with this tutorial: http://www.raywenderlich.com/8003/h...-to-apple-from-no-account-to-app-store-part-1

I assume it's the exact same sort of thing with a Hackintosh. I have been developing apps on the simulator and have built a pretty decent app. Eventually I might pay the $99/year fee to test on devices and submit apps to the app store.

It would be interesting to hear how easy it is to make back that $99/year in the app store.

Anyone still developing on Snow leopard?

I have some friends who develop on Snow Leopard. They can't develop for anything after iOS 5.

I also had an issue the other day where my screen was flashing off while I was doing dev in Xcode. It's not a huge problem, but a bit of an annoyance. I'd be in the middle of writing a line of code and the screen goes out for maybe 1-5 seconds. It happened about five times within a thirty minute period. It had never happened before, and it has never happened again.

Yep seen the problem many times. Could be Chimera / Chameleon issue or GPU driver for HD3000. Sometimes rebooting fixes it, other times a cold boot, some boots are "better" than others so its weird

I have access to a spare pc but its bare minimum not 100% working hackintosh. would like to use that for ios development. will be learning to begin with.

audio doesnt work. and some random usb ports. apart from the audio, will this affect overall osx development tools. do i need to have the iphone or ios device plugged in to test my apps, or does it have a simulator to do it. i'll be in the preschool grade for ios dev, absolute no coding before.

any getting started links guides for ? cheers
