Hey,
I had to reset my BIOS (v2.17.1246) because my mainboard didn't want to power on again. The build is an Asus Maximus Ranger VIII with a Skylake i5, a Geforce 980 and 16GB RAM.
I put the BIOS settings back to the way they were before, respectively:
- Secure Boot: Off
- CFG Lock: Off
- CSM: Off
- Disabled Fastboot
- Legacy USB: Disabled
- XHCI Handoff: Enabled
- SATA Mode: AHCI
When I booted up, Clover came up just fine and Windows would boot without problems. However booting El Capitan resultet in a 'Still waiting for Root Device' error. I double checked the SATA setting but it was on AHCI.
I also tried booting with PCIRootUID=0 and UseKernelCache=No flags to no avail.
There is also this:
SuperIODevice: [Fatal] found unsupported chip! ITE sequence ID=0xffff, Winbond sequence ID=0xffff
during boot which I'm sure has been or not been there before.
Any ideas?
