Im new at this hackintosh stuff. I need some help. My Mac won't shutdown at all. Is there some special config playlist that I need? I have two hot swap samsung 850 ssd evo 500gb. I'm running Mavericks 10.9.5 on one and Yosemite on another. Shutdown won't work on either. I've read some things to where some software such as little snitch can prevent shutdown but I don't have little snitch. Is there a way to tell which programs are hanging up the shutdown? Shutdown also doesn't work after a clean install either without any new programs installed. I'm using the standard config playlist from the Mavericks clover page on this forum on both ssd drives. I've read some things on HaltEnabler and even tried writing it into the config playlist but I'm not sure I'm doing it right because it didn't seem to fix anything. I've also tried using the shutdown fix on the clover start up screen. None of these things worked at all. All my BIOS settings seem to be fine. I've checked them with other posts regarding this matter. I'm posting them here on this post for reference. Can anyone help me out?

Here are my specs.

Mavericks 10.9.5
Yosemite 10.10.5
Gigabyte GA z97x gaming 3
Gtx 660
i7 4970k
32gb Ripjaws 1600 ddr3
Samsung 850 evo 500gb
Corsair rm750x

Broken shutdown can be caused by Powermanagement not implemented. USB problems can cause broken shutdown. Verify that X86PlatformPlugin & AppleLPC is loaded in ioreg [Guide] How to Make a Copy of IOReg | tonymacx86.com

Disabling the Intel virtualization technology option didn't work. Perhaps it's another issue. I am uploading my IOReg. Is there a way to tell what's going on with it by looking at that? I also want to make clear exactly what's happening. As soon as I shutdown, the machine waits two or three seconds and then starts back up again. From that point I have to press the power button. I unplugged all USB and FireWire connections. I even unplugged my mouse and keyboard(which are plugged into the rear USB ports) immediately after choosing to shut down. That didn't work either.

I'm also wondering why my memory doesn't register as 1600. I have a BIOS profile set to that but it seems as though it's only read as 1333.

Another question too is why can't I change my system definitions with clover? I did a previous install with unibeast and updates with multibeast and my memory even read as 1600. The reason I went to clover is because I kept getting freezing issues for some reason. I got the impression from things I've read that clover was a better way to install.

One more question is how do I make my clover screen do that count down to initialize OS instead of having to press enter?

Attached is a boot log, my IOReg, and some images I photographed of my screen when it boots. Also, I somehow managed to install a clover function by modifying the playlist to give me a read out when it shut down.

Does this info help?

Powermanagement is disabled because you're using NullCPUPowermanagement which isn't needed. AppleLPC isn't loaded same goes with X86PlatformPlugin.

Should i just delete NullCPUPowermanagement? Why does every osx install guide I read say that it's a mandatory kext? Will deleting it activate AppleLPC and X86platformPlugin? Or is there something else special I have to do?

You should try and get proper power management working. That should hopefully help fix the problem and a few others that could arise. Follow this guide exactly and you should have PM working.

You mentioned random freezing which could possibly mean you are experience the memory corruption problem thats common on Gigabyte motherboards. Are you using the latest BIOS version for your motherboard ? If yes have you tried the latest Beta BIOS ?

Also do you have XMP detection enabled in Clover configurator ? That might be why you are not getting 1600MHz speeds via ram.

The guide is helping out but it's taking me a little bit of time understanding all the lingo, links, and what everything is. Remember I've never done any of this before so it's like learning a new language. So far it looks as if the guide is telling to get my clover to read two ssdt tables which then allow my OS to understand the new power management kext shown on the download.

My only questions are why is there a kext called x86PlatformPlugin when there isn't one named that to download? I know this may sound like a du!b question but I downloaded and installed the power management kext called AppleCPUPowerManagement but haven't gotten it to work yet. I can see it installed with my IOReg but don't think it's working as of now because I can't shut down. Another question is does chameleon wizard create and write the ssdt to plug in to my clover playlist? I've never used it before. I also don't fully understand all the terminal commands and procedures on the guide. I have a terminal command book which is helping me out but if there is a simple example of what to type in terminal, that would help out.

I know some of this might sound like I am incapable and needy but I really don't understand computers that much. I just need simple stupid questions answered and then I can understand it.
