While looking at new routers last night I stumbled across this upcoming PCIe card from TP-Link and got pretty excited.

I'm wondering if this card will work as well as the TP-Link WDN4800 does. I don't know enough to look at the specs and see anything that says it will or won't. But it sure would be awesome if it did! Not only better performance, but it would look way cooler in my case lol.

Here are the specifications from the website incase you don't feel like traveling to the link.

Need the vendor/device ids.
802.11n/5 GHz missing???

I don't think its out yet if by vendor/device id's you mean where can you find one for purchase.

Very interesting about the 802.11n/5 GHz not listed... I missed that. I wonder if its 2.4G GHz 802.11n rating of 450Mbps was enough for them to ignore adding a 5GHz band, but like I said, I don't know enough about this stuff to make any credible assumptions.

The TP-Link Archer T8E AC1750 is now available on Amazon. Has anyone tried it, or does anyone intend to? I'm very interested in it's compatibility and performance.

I've not seen any information on it's chipset nor any reviews of the card. It's $70 USD at Newegg, but no info on the chipset compatibility with OS X.

I pulled the trigger and ordered one from Newegg. I'll keep you posted once I've tested it.
Thank you for voluntarily to test this card at your expense.

I have my fingers, arms, legs and eyes crossed wishing for success.

Great news. The TP-LINK Archer T8E worked for me out of the box. I'm connected to an ac router through 2 concrete walls at a consistently faster transmit rate than my 2013 macbook air.

Update: See post #12. It's not quite working as it initially did.
