Just wanted to let everyone know that the TP-Link TL-WDN4800 Revision 1.3 PCIe WiFi card installed and works perfectly with 10.9.4 :headbang:

I realize this card was in the buying guide recently but the manufacturers sometimes keep the same part number and change the actual controller chip. This post is to confirm for everyone that Rev 1.3 of the card is still good.

That's strange, I have the same card. That said, I'm a newbie.

This morning, when I was trying to debug my update to 10.9.4, the wi-fi connection was working but the screen wasn't.

So I ran MultiBeast (by sharing the screen with my MacBook), now screen is working but no more wi-fi!

:banghead:

For me, I simply installed the card and powered up the system. When I went into the Network control panel I got a notice for a new interface and proceeded to configure it. It was really quite smooth.

Are you sure the part number is exactly the same as mine? I have photos of my card in the albums section of my profile if you want to have a look.

Maybe I'm missing something but I have a TP-Link 450Mbps Wireless N Dual Band TL-WDN4800.
At least that's what is written on the packaging.

I never had much trouble updating Mavericks with this card, I'm confused.

Hmmm... the reason I asked is that the thread you linked to previously seemed to be going on about a different card.

What motherboard are you using (it's not listed in your profile)?

Did this card work previously? If so when did it stop working?

The TL-WDN4800 has been flawless in my rig so far.

BTW, I just checked and the stock Apple kext the TL-WDN4800 is using in my rig is AirPortAtheros40, version 7.0

Go to Apple Menu -> About This Mac -> More Info... -> System Report

Scroll down until you see "Software" in the left column. Click the drop down triangle (if it isnt already) and select "Extensions". Click on the "Loaded" column to sort by loaded or not and have a look to see if it shows up as being loaded.

Thank you a lot for your time Atlantis!

I just checked AirPortAtheros40, I also have version 7.0 and it's loaded.

My motherboard is a Gigabyte Z87X-UD5H, I'll add it up to my profile right now.

The card always worked in this computer, from Mavericks 10.9 to 10.9.3. For about half a year.

It just stopped working with the update to 10.9.4.

Sorry for the link to a topic concerning another card, I just saw this topic when I started looking for alternative kexts and I thought I'd try those even if it's not the same one. Not my greatest idea, haha.

Thank you again!

Edit :

Strange thing is that it seems to connects to my network on startup (the wi-fi icon is black and when I click on it available networks are listed), but a few seconds after, it turns grey.

I'm always glad to help. 10.9.4 has done something nasty to Ethernet as well. I started getting port hangs when doing any kind of data transfer. After extensive troubleshooting, I rolled the driver back via MultiBeast to AppleIntel1000e v2.4.14 which seems to have resolved the issue but it certainly isn't a fix. More of a workaround really.

Maybe try rebuilding the kext (driver) cache. You can reboot the system and at the Chimera boot loader screen, type the boot flag -f which will force a rebuild. Give it a try.
