Tried to install mountain lion osx. I flashed the modded 2.30 bios in order to have dsdt free install.
After i got the unibeast usb, i removed all the drives apart the one needed for osx installation and the dvd reader (both plugged into sata2 ports).
To get to the installer and the first screen, I had to use PCIRootUID=0 and -x. also ps2 keyboard don't work.
After I installed it, network didn't work so I couldn't download multibeast. I've plugged in a fat32 usb with files needed and it doesn't get recognized, i've burnt a iso+udf CD and it can't be read (also the eject button doesn't work).
other issues: sleep mode doesn't work (u can't go back into osx after u make it sleep), and the right top bar doesn't recognize the mouse clicks :eek:o_O:eek:
:banghead::banghead:
Not easy as I thought :(
any idea on how to solve these problems?

If possible swap the extreme board for a pro series board. The extreme4 has unsupported Broadcom LAN.

lol. even in windows7 it needs drivers to work.
anyway i've found the drivers for the lan on osx86, i've to find a way to read the files from osx

If you don't mind trying DSDT solution I know how to fix the sleep issue.
Extract a DSDT using DSDT Editor and attach it with rest of your build info.

actually I don't mind about sleep mode. where can I disable it?
anyway i manged to put all the files into a macos extended formatted usb.
now everything is working. even the network and all the media (cd and fat32 usb).
:D

You could have avoided patching BIOS by just installing nullcpupowermanagement.kext available in Multibeast.

To disable sleep go to System Preference >Energy saver> Push the computer sleep tab to never and lock.

many thanks. i wanted to try the patched bios as it doesn't have that many modifications.
tried the sleep mode. it works but when I turn it up again there's no video signal :\
the dvd eject button does not work. only with ejecting from the system.

The button on the DVD drive or the button on the keyboard?

If it is the button on the keyboard, go to the following posting which has attached 2 kexts. Choose one of the two kexts and install it, then reboot. The keyboard button should then work.

the button on the dvd drive. but i can open the drive by clicking the eject button on the top bar.
what's the eject button on the keyboard?

anyway usb3 ports are not working even if i installed as media drivers found here http://www.osx86.net/view/3266-asrock_z77_extreme4_dsdt.html
