Two issues:

1. Have not been able to get two monitors to work. Port 1 attached to primary display. Port 2 (closest to MB) attached to secondary display. On system load boot screens come up on secondary display. Once the system loads, the display switches to the primary display and the secondary display goes black. Switching ports reverses this.

Card is in the PCIEX16 slot with two power feeds from the 750W Corsair power supply.

GraphicsEnabler is ON. If GraphicsEnabler is OFF, there is no display, and I have to boot from the Unibeast Flash Drive and enter Graphics Enabler=on to get a display.

Have tried several combinations in BIOS of video settings with no affect. It's currently set to PEG (PCIEX16 as first display).

Tried it both without and with Multibeast NVIDA driver.

2. No sound. Enabled Realtek ALC898 (Gigibite manual) and later 892 (listed in BIOS) in Multibeast. MacOS doesn't see any output devices. BIOS audio controller is enabled.

Help greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Update.

The good news is that the second monitor is now working. The bad news is that I don't know why! Maybe I'll figure it out.

Still no audio. I'm working on it.

All in all, the machine works really well and is quite fast. I big upgrade from my MacBook Pro 2.6.

Have you figured out why it started working ? I'm having the same issue and would appreciate some suggestions.

I have same board as you, with F4 bios. You might have done this already but I selected ALC 898 under drivers and bootloaders->drivers->audio->Realtek ALC8xx->without DSDT->ALC898 in Multibeast 5.0.2 and it worked next restart. Assume you are not using a DSDT? On my machine I selected internal speakers and that is the green output on the back. I believe you can do surround sound but right now currently trying to get second monitor working (funny, isn't it??LOL).

You can run this too after any changes, helps update the caches and permissions:

Both monitors are now working. I haven't had time to address the audio issue. There is an exhaustive Realtek ALC8xx setup guide that I intend to work through, but it's for Lion, so it will differ for Mountain Lion. I also have sleep/awake issues. But other than that, the thing is working nicely.

The monitor problem was solved in the BIOS. I went up to EVGA FAQ and high on the list was the answer: the integrated video must be disabled. In setting up a new everything (I've never done anything like this before) the number of details and variables are overwhelming.

But I'm getting there. The whole thing is pretty cool.

Thanks. I need to reload the system and make sure I have the correct audio drivers selected. One think I can't yet solve is sleep/awake issues. Shut down does a restart. Sleep goes into long term hibernation. I have the power button set to go to sleep or wake up if simply pressed. Hold for 4 seconds and it will shut down. But I can't wake from sleep with the power button either. I need to check and make sure I have the board connections right. Any other ideas greatly appreciated.

Don't forget there is also a selection on the BIOS for audio enabled or disabled, under peripherals I think, make sure its enabled. ALC898 on this board with MB 5.0.2 should be as easy as selecting that button. Then again, getting two monitors to work should be easy too (mine doesn't work). Odd on the sleep issue, mine works great..put it to sleep in the menu (I've let it go as long as 12 hours like that), hit the space bar and up it comes just fine. No tweaks needed. MB 5.0.2 I selected three boxes, non dsdt install, the alc898 box and the network box. That's it.

One thing I like to do on a new build is install the system and nothing else (documents, etc) until I can play with it a bit. Also put in a second hard drive and use Carbon Copy Cloner to make a copy of the first one. Then if I screw up the first one somehow, just boot into the second drive and copy it back to the first drive. Works great.

Update: Just got second monitor working, I hang my head in shame, installed OpenCL enabler in MB and it works fine now....OpenCL does not but making progress...

I spoke too soon. This morning dual monitors won't work. All along I've seen a quick error message on startup, and finally took the time to write it down. "Error: Bad Display Config Block Signature (0X55455545)." In any event, I loaded OpenGL Enabler, but that didn't make any difference. Now I can't seem to boot off of the flash drive to reload the system. Very weird. This isn't over yet.

So, I had the same issue and the second monitor just suddenly started working. I get a similar error as you about the "Bad Display Config Block Signature".

I'm not sure what happened, but it's working. I wish I could provide some input but there's nothing I can think of that fixed it.

Well I am having issues too. Second monitor stopped working, also lost graphics (couldn't run cinebench, luxmark, or novabench they all gave errors). I reinstalled ML using a newly made unibeast usb drive and PCIRootUID=0 on each boot...once installed, ran MB and selected audio, non dsdt install, networks and OpenCL enabler. Everything comes up fine, all the tests run fine, both monitors fine, etc.

I also looked under PCI card in system information, previous to running MB both the controllers said yes and yes. After running multibeast, one says yes the other says no. See pics. I know i have to use the second DVI port on my GTX560ti or my main monitor will lose its signal partway through the boot on cold starts (sleep ok, restarts ok).

So anyway, everything seemed good, OpenCl is working, both monitors working etc, but now the next morning (cold start) my second monitor loses signal halfway through the boot, then the main monitor comes up (which of course is running off the secondary dvi port)...so it looks the same problem as before which I spent a lot of time trying to sort out when it was my main monitor (final fix was to swap ports and PCIRootUID=0)

Interesting.
