I have ML 10.8 and a Rocketfish USB Bluetooth adapter. On another computer, a Kensington USB Bluetooth adapter.

On Lion 10.7.4 after a reboot I am immediately able to use my mouse and bluetooth keyboard on both computers.

On ML 10.8 I have to wait 60-120 seconds before the Bluetooth stack gets its act together ... an agonizing eternity when you are troubleshooting other crap - and oh so very annoying. This happens on both computers.

Genzai posted a modified IOBluetoothFamily1074hacked.zip from 10.7.4 that corrects this problem. The link is HERE : http://www.tonymacx86.com/buying-advice/56752-need-bluetooth-4-0-get-here.html

After replacing the ML kext in 10.8 with this hacked kext from 10.7.4, my bluetooth mouth and keyboard are available immediately upon reboot. It works perfectly.

Thanks so much to Genzai!

Thanks

I was scratching my head for hours wondering why after install ML 10.8 my boot up times slowed down. THANK YOU so much for posting the solution!
