Lo,

I was able to install ML 10.8.3 on a Gigabyte GA-Q77M-D2H, using UniBeast 1.7 and MultiBeast 5.2.1.

Hardware: Gigabyte GA-Q77M-D2H, firmware F2. Intel Core i3-3225 with integrated HD 4000. 8 GB RAM. 1 TB WD HDU. Nothing really fancy, I'm on a tiny budget here, no pictures to share. :D

Basically I used the 'default' guides: I went though the BIOS settings (http://www.tonymacx86.com/99-quick-guide-configuring-uefi-gigabyte-s-7-series-lga-1155-boards.html) and used the UniBeast guide as a reference (http://www.tonymacx86.com/61-unibeast-install-os-x-mountain-lion-any-supported-intel-based-pc.html).

Remember to put the USB-stick in a USB2 port. It won't work if you put your USB-stick in a USB3 port!

One minor thing that I had to do to get things working was to add "PCIRootUID=0". Only once, just after installing ML from the prepared USB-stick. In the UniBeast guide, that's at "STEP 4: Post-Installation Using MultiBeast", sub-step 4. Without "PCIRootUID=0", it would hang during the start-up of the completion of the Mac OS X Mountain Lion setup.

So do NOT enable "PCIRootUID=1" at the Customization-section in MultiBeast later on!

I saw many others struggling with this, I thought I should share this.

Regarding virtualization, I've enabled this in the BIOS, it doesn't give any problems. The i3-3225 doesn't have VT-d so no problems with that.

Suriname Clubcard.

I have the same setup as you and i cant get into the ML installation .. am i doing something wrong? i did all the bios changes that is suggested and have tried all the codes to try to get through. just cant manage to get into the installer.. help please.

Are you on the F2 version of the BIOS firmware? AHCI enabled?

yes i am on F2 and have AHCI enabled.

Okay. No extra graphics card installed? If so, remove it. You did try the "PCIRootUID=0" setting while booting from the stick the first time, didn't you? Are you using ML 10.8.3? Can you boot with "-v" to see where it failed? Maybe take a picture? While you are at it, maybe make some pictures of the BIOS settings? Which monitor output are you using: VGA, DVI or HDMI?

We'll gonna solve this!

no graphics card is in use, i have tried "PCIRootUID=0" and still a no go i am using dvi as my output. also i included a shot of where it freezes.

Just to make sure: this is while booting from the USB stick, right? To prepare for partitioning the HDU, right? No need to use "PCIRootUID=0" at that point (at least, not in my case), sorry, my mistake. You're using the same processor with the HD 4000? Not a processor with the HD 2500? How many HDU's do you have attached? What port did you connect the HDU's to?

yes i am booting from the usb stick i am using the same exact proccesor and i have 1 HDU attached which is attached via sata 6gbs

if i leave it sit after launching in -V it repeats it self saying "Still waiting for root device"

I can only think of some weird BIOS setting that I accidentally have in the right position and you don't. I will do two things: (1) make pictures of the BIOS settings and (2) will boot the USB stick with "-v" to see what is next after the point where your installation stopped. However, I can't do it now because I don't have access to that system. It is in my sons bedroom and he is sleeping right now. I'll do it tomorrow. Sorry about that.

You prepared the USB stick without "USB lagecy support" and without "laptop support"? Just to be very sure. You are confident the USB stick itself is okay?
