Hi All

I take alot from these forums, and ask a lot of stupid questions.
So this is me trying to put something back!
This is quite possibly one of the cheapest builds around - easily sub £500 - including a SSD (excluding monitors!)
Ill try and make links so all can buy exactly what I have....

So here is the build:
- GA Z68P-DS3 (F9 Bios)
- i5 Sandybridge 2500
- Two PCI-e Graphics Cards GT 520 1gb (DVI / HDMI / VGA outs)
- 4 Monitors (in my Case 2x 24" Acer and 2x 27" Dell u2711 - all at full res)
- RAM (doesnt matter how much - as it happens i have 12GB)
- Apple Keyb and Logitech g700 mouse (which by the way is highly recommended)
- Crucial 256GB SSD

What you will need:

- Mountain Lion Unibeast (see guides)
- DP3 Nvidia Kexts
- Kext Utility
- Cuda Drivers
- Multibeast 4.6.1
- Chimera 1.11.1
- iMount stand for all the monitors!

What isnt working (or I havent tried to make work)
- Sleep - I personally never use.

What is Working
- The two graphics cards
- Sound (on board)
- Networking (on board)
- On board graphics (for the install phase only)

Steps:

Computer Step:
- NO graphic cards installed!!! Very important
- Use on board HDMI
- No sound connected
- No ethernet lead connected

Install ML:
- Boot from USB you have created
- Use the '-x' flag for safe mode
- Install ML as per all guides.
- Allow restart

Setup ML:
- After install completed, boot from unibeast USB and boot the new ML installation, again with the -x flag (safe mode)
- Setup ML and then restart (again using the -x flag)

The Kexts:
- Navigate to /S/L/E (your ML system folder->libraries->extensions and remove the following 4 nvidia kexts:
- NVDAGF100Hal.kext
- NVDANV50Hal.kext
- NVDAResman.kext
- NVSMU.kext
- NVDAGK100Hal.kext
- GeforceGA.plugin
- Do not restart

Multibeast:
- Place the AML file on your desktop (do not forget!)
- Run Multibeast 4.6.1
- Tick the following:
- UserDSDT Install
- System Utilities (All)
- Drivers / Kexts / Non-DSDT HDA Enabaler / ALC889
- Drivers / Kexts / Patched AppleHDA / ALC889
- Network / Lnx2Macs
- Customisation / System Definations / MacPro 3,1
- Install all that, and use the Lnx2Macs release stable drivers for the second install
- DO NOT hit restart!!!

Nvidia GT520 Kexts:
- Use Kext Utility to install the 4 Nvida replacement kexts from DP3 (drag them onto the window)
- Do not restart

Bootloaders:
- Install Chimera 1.11.1 to the ML partition and install the NVidia Cuda driver
- Do not restart

GraphicsEnabler to No:
- Navigate to your ML /Extra folder on the ML partition and open the file "org.chameleon.Boot.plist" with Textedit and change the string field under the GraphicsEnabler key field to "No" without quotes and save the file.

- Shutdown the computer.
- When off, add ONE of the graphics card and use the DVI
- Reboot directly booting to the ML harddrive
- All hopefully will work
- Add your second monitor via the hdmi

- Shutdown the Computer
- Add your second Graphics card only connecting the DVI
- Turn on, and when all up add the 4th monitor.

That should take care of it all.
Its a pretty good idea to clone it now! (carbon copy cloner)
Remember to do System Prefs: Energy, and disable sleep (unless you can be bothered to sort it)

Feel free to ask any questions and ill do my best to help out!
PS - Alot of credit goes to many other posts for the help, ideas and advice. Im just summing this up for this particular build.

regards

Matt
