    ARM64 Work?

Yeah, in regards to the non-Apple hardware situation, I would agree that we are reaching the end of a golden age. Given their new reliance on the neural engine hardware, it seems that this also has functional reasons beyond just locking down the OS. On a similar line then, though: What about...

    ARM64 Work?

Just wondering, despite the long standing "x86" in the name of the site, if anyone has begun working on running Big Sur on other ARM64 architectures like RPi or MS Surface ProX, etc now that macOS is natively built for it?

What Version of OS X is your Computer Running?

What about USB 3.0 on your build since it's clearly not stock intel hardware?

What Version of OS X is your Computer Running?

I'm on Yosemite still. The primary reason is the USB 3.0 issues that have been reported. My motherboard is the GA Z97-UD5H, and has a Renasas USB controller for which the USB fixes are not supposed to work. Thus, I've stayed on Yosemite to maintain full USB 3 support. Has there been any...

Photos App Causes instant power cycle of System

Here's an odd one. Did my 10.10.3 update without issues. Re-did my AppleHDA kext and fixed trim. All was well. I opened photos and waited while it updated by iPhoto library. All was well. As soon as it finished though and it loaded my photos, the system instantly powered off and then...

343.02.02f02 NVIDIA Alternate Drivers + Security Update 2015-002 = Broken

All : There is NO need to rollback the driver. Fixing the build number in the Info.plist DOES solve the issue. The missing step is rebuilding of the kernel caches. It is done as follows: sudo kextcache -system-prelinked-kernel sudo kextcache -system-caches After changing the...

    How to Fix iMessage

You mentioned that the number changed. That number is a checksum based on your MLB and ROM values. If it changed, then your NVRAM setup is not correct, and iMessage will NOT work. If you are using chimera, consider switching to clover. Calling Apple again will not resolve the issue.

    How to Fix iMessage

Interesting. Glad to see I'm not the only one. Someone else also mentioned that it worked on their guest account, but not their main account. So clearly there is an element to how this all works that goes beyonds the MLB, ROM, and S/N stuff. Either the OS account or the AppleID itself is...

    How to Fix iMessage

So here's a new one that I haven't read about anywhere so far: I've followed the guide for the iMessage fix with clover. Followed it all the way through to chapter 8. Called Apple. Here's the interesting part: On the call with apple care, after entering the code, my original AppleID still did...

    How to Fix iMessage

Finally found a script for a 17 char MLB gen on page 24 of the IM thread. Is that the one you used? Did it require a call to apple or just worked with your en0 address and an Apple Prefix? I would just go ahead an generate a 13 char save for one concern: Does anyone know what the factors are...

    How to Fix iMessage

Can you provide some additional details: Was the yosemite install an in-place upgrade or a fresh install? Is your board a UEFI board? If your upgrade was in place, and you installed clover in UEFI only, you should still be able to boot using chameleon and access your old values via...

    How to Fix iMessage

So having read all 26 pages of the insanelymac forum on MLB pattern, particularly the part where it says that the advice of taking your S/N and adding characters to equal 17 is WRONG, and having read the guide here that recommends doing exactly that, it appears there is a CONTRADICTION. This...

    How to Fix iMessage

So, 1. no one said you HAD to clone. 2. That's EXACTLY what I said. 3. The structure of these IS well understood, but the correlation that might be required to a generated ROM value is explained in contradictory ways all over the web. Perhaps you could enlighten us? Did you have to call...

    How to Fix iMessage

Ok, so a lot of online research has yielded the following: 1. The instructions for generating a 17 character MLB are WRONG. The pattern is not yet understood. Taking a serial number and adding digits DOES NOT WORK, at least not for the 17char MLBs. 2. You CAN use a MLB/ROM combo from an...

    How to Fix iMessage

Hi all, so I have a clover-generated OS X S/N that passes self solve. I used uuidgen to generate a SmUUID that I am injecting via clover. I read on the clover info that the current version of clover uses the last 6 bytes of of the SmUUID as the ROM value and that I should use the S/N+extra...
