Try the download again, maybe ctrl-click and then save-as instead of just clicking it to download.

FIXED: ntfs-3g "Did not receive a signal within 15"

I was having an issue with mac ntfs-3g after I had upgraded to Lion. I googled around and found a solution. I wrote up a short shell script to do all the grunt work (and prevent typos) Here is the source that I found: HERE They indicated that they got the code from: HERE Attached is the...

    Post-Install for Intel DX58SO

I hate to bump, but I really have no idea what I should do to troubleshoot this. It seems many people have broken the iBoot dependency and I'd love to know what worked for them.

    Post-Install for Intel DX58SO

I had originally started with installing components one-by-one, using the list of things that make up EasyBeast. I did this because (originally) Ev0reboot.kext would cause the system to hang on verbose boots, and "-v -x PCIRootUID=1" was the only way I could boot until I got my graphics working...

    Post-Install for Intel DX58SO

I've had my Intel DX58SO booting 10.6.7 for a few weeks now. I've been focusing on getting one thing at a time working properly. I've got most of the hard ones out of the way (Graphics, Audio, Wireless) so I'm getting really excited as I'm closing in on 100% functionality. One of my last...

    Triple boot - X58 - can't install bootloader

Since the newest version of MultiBest just came out I decided to try this again. First I took a snapshot of my MBR using dd. That's in mbr.bin attached to this post. I then booted OSX and ran the new MultiBeast and checked only Chimera. The install 'succeeded' and when I rebooted I saw the same...

    Belkin N+ F5D8055 (RT2870)

That Error is Good News actually. When you plug in a device, OSX does a lookup to find what driver to use. The fact that it is trying to use the RT2870 driver means that the edit to the Info.plist was successful and the F5d8055v2's device ID is now associated with the correct driver. However, I...

    Belkin N+ F5D8055 (RT2870)

It looks like you have both the 2870 and the 73 drivers installed. Although there's nothing wrong with having both kext in there, the apps that are also installed with them will likely conflict. Run the RT73 uninstaller to remove it. ( you might want to remove both just so you have a clean...

    Belkin N+ F5D8055 (RT2870)

I will be honest, this one was very tough for me. Are you comfortable with the terminal? If so can you post the output of these commands: ls /System/Library/Extensions/ | grep RT ls -l /System/Library/Extensions/RT2870USBWirelessDriver.kext/Contents/ Also, can you check your login items by...

    Belkin N+ F5D8055 (RT2870)

For anyone reading this post in the future, I got this card working on 10.6.6. Here is the complete process: 1) Download the Ralink Provided RT3072 Drivers for 10.6...

    Triple boot - X58 - can't install bootloader

I sync'd the gpt from ubuntu, booted OSX (10.6) and ran the Chimera 1.4.0 stand alone installer (from this site). When I reboot, it flashes a few words very quickly and then proceeds to boot Windows. Can you explain what is contained in each of the following places after a successful Chimera...

    Belkin N+ F5D8055 (RT2870)

I've been googling the hell out of USB wireless chipsets trying to find something that I could get my hands on that would work with OSX. I took a leap of faith and bought a Belkin N+ Model F5D8055, based on reading (somewhere, maybe InsanelyMac) that it was based on the RT2870 RT3272 Chipset...

How to Change Your Bootloader Using MultiBeast

I've done that, when I reboot I get a blinking cursor. It doesn't give the BIOS "No Operating System" error, but it doesn't load the bootlaoder either.

How to Change Your Bootloader Using MultiBeast

Early in the thread someone mentioned that installing via MultiBeast is only for those with an existing boot loader. I overwrote mine when I installed windows, what do I have to do to get chimera back?

    Triple boot - X58 - can't install bootloader

Is that needed if OSX did the partitioning? I formatted two of the partitions with other OSes, but that doesn't change their locations on the disk. Likewise, isn't Chimera going to be installed on the Disk's MBR, as opposed to each (GUID) partition's boot record?
