[GUIDE] macOS Catalina on ASRock DeskMini 310 with 9th Gen Intel Core CPU, Dual-Boot

Out or curiosity, have you tried reversing the cabling for your monitors. I found that when changing which monitor used DP or HDMI changed the flickering screen. Right now I do not need to replug after a reboot, but if I swap the cables around I need to. The other major difference is you are...

[GUIDE] macOS Catalina on ASRock DeskMini 310 with 9th Gen Intel Core CPU, Dual-Boot

So over the last couple of days I have put many hours into trying to get my Deskmini back to where it was pre-10.15.5... As you say it broke a perfectly good system - but my desire to have latest and greatest was too great :!: Where I am now: Back to working with dual monitors, having refactored...

Upgrade from 10.15.4 to 10.15.5 issues

Hi all, Rather than start a new thread for a basic question I'd start here. I am also having trouble upgrading from 10.15.4 to .5. I reboot and follow the installer boot option, and then the installer does some work for a few minutes before rebooting. I seem to get into a loop there with the...

[GUIDE] macOS Catalina on ASRock DeskMini 310 with 9th Gen Intel Core CPU, Dual-Boot

I suspect you have your answer then... Your phone which is one of Apples smallest is only charging slowly. Your iPad Pro which is pretty much the biggest device Apple makes (laptops aside) isn't charging. I suspect there is not enough current being delivered to activate charging. As I say, I...

[GUIDE] macOS Catalina on ASRock DeskMini 310 with 9th Gen Intel Core CPU, Dual-Boot

I can check with my iPad tomorrow and see if it charges. Are you using the A or C connector? I wonder if it cant deliver enough power for the iPad to show as charging. I have certainly seen that on my iPad Pro with a weak charger. For me has worked out of the box from day 1. I actually just...

[GUIDE] macOS Catalina on ASRock DeskMini 310 with 9th Gen Intel Core CPU, Dual-Boot

@leegs, can you point me to a particular seller on AliExpress? I see multiple with reviews from people saying their version was incompatible. Id rather stick to a known good seller... Reduce the risk.

[GUIDE] macOS Catalina on ASRock DeskMini 310 with 9th Gen Intel Core CPU, Dual-Boot

Latest update... All my hardware arrived, built up while stuck in telcos and installed over lunch. I didn't time it but I'd say about 90 minutes for the build and install. So far everything seems to work without issue. Just need the DW1820A card now and I can see if that works. Thanks @Css13 for...

Got it. I might give the DW1820A card a try and see how it goes. Given I am in no rush, I can order cheaply from China.

[GUIDE] macOS Catalina on ASRock DeskMini 310 with 9th Gen Intel Core CPU, Dual-Boot

@Css13 did you try the latest firmware version 4.20 or just stick with 4.10? Also, did you get anywhere with your Wi-Fi and Bluetooth setup? I haven’t bothered with hardware for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth yet, but I'd like to get it sorted before long.

Thanks @Css13, it makes perfect sense now. The bit that I was missing was that I wasn't aware that after the Catalina install you can login before the reboot. I was wondering how the hell you could run Clover Configurator from within the installer.

[GUIDE] macOS Catalina on ASRock DeskMini 310 with 9th Gen Intel Core CPU, Dual-Boot

Great thread, thanks for posting this. It has been my reference guide for going buying some hardware. I love the small size of the DeskMini 310. I am currently waiting for all to be delivered and put it all together. Ive never built a Hackintosh before and have a question. I have built the...
