FWIW, I updated my i5 10th gen NUC to Big Sur. It went amazingly smooth. No issues with installation.
Only quirk I can find is that now Safari beachballs shortly after launch, and I have to force quit it.
Otherwise, everything seems good.
While your EFI config has improved the 4K situation, one area where I'm having trouble with it (vs my EFI which was masquerading as an iMac19,1) is with the services. I updated the config plist with values for SN/MLB/SystemUUID, but none of them work and every time I try to login to iCloud I get...
Tried your EFI and it does enable 3840x2160 at 60hz. Thanks! Still need to run some more tests to make sure the CPU variance doesn't leave me with a hobbled system, but as far as the display does, that did the trick.
Has anyone solved the 4K issue? I'm running the Frost Canyon i5, and everything works great (even have Wifi working, albeit it's a bit slow and strangely implemented), except 4K. I'm using a USB-C to DisplayPort cable on an LG 4K Display (27UK650_600) and I'm only about to get 2560x1440...
I have the i5 NUC w 32GB of RAM and a 500GB Crucial NVMe SSD installed. I'm using the EFI folder posted by Leesureone. When I get to the NUC's boot screen and select the USB drive to boot from, it immediately jumps back to the 'Please Select Boot Device' screen.
Any ideas on why this might be...
