I'm currently running 10.6.8 with a 9800 GTX. Which one of the above mentioned cards offers the best hassle-free installation? I know that you have to disable the second GPU on the 5970 by tweaking some stuff. Is the GTX 280 plug & play on Snow Leopard?

I realized it's running in 32-bit. Do I really need 64-bit? It's detecting the whole 8 GB memory, but will I have problems in case I want to upgrade to Lion?

Sorry I don't know about that Atheros chipset you have. I thought all the motherboards used Realtek... If I understood correctly, you can't boot without using the iBoot CD?

What is the onboard ethernet device type? Something like RTL8xxx In my case it works fine after I installed the Realtek driver from MultiBeast. I have an RTL8111/8168B
