Dude, this site has better tech support than most sites out there, even ones that are for legit Mac users. I've actually seen actual Mac users drop in on hackintosh sites and get tech support, because they were able to connect with people who literally knew the OS from the inside out instead of...
There is hardly a day that goes by that I don't look at my hackintosh and realize just how awesome it is. Yeah you have to get through a few issues, and there is a thread on here to fix just about every one of them if you have the patience. My system has never performed better than it does...
You make a very good point, this is more of a workaround than a solution. I will retag the thread as [workaround] and perhaps the discovery of this workaround will help those who have more advanced knowledge of kexts to pinpoint the issue.
Even the caps lock indicator light works as well. The only issue is if you turn caps lock off and back on again real fast it seems to stay off, but who cares honestly. It works now and my hackintosh is complete.
MY MAN!!! Yeah, just typed that with my caps lock key on. Your suggestion fixed the issue! Keyboard works just the same, and now my caps lock works. I cannot thank you enough.
I just did an experiment and found this to be interesting.
This is what I did:
1. Opened System Preferences
2. Clicked on "keyboard"
3. Under the keyboard tab, clicked on the "modifier keys" button.
4. I kept the caps lock key as caps lock, I changed the command key to caps lock.
5. Pressed the...
My system:
Asus p8z77-v lk
macOS Sierra
32gb ram
Apple Extended Keyboard II connected via Griffin iMate ADB to USB adapter.
Before I was using one of the older Mac Pro system definitions the caps lock on my keyboard worked fine along with the indicator light. Recently after upgrading to...
Looking pretty good right now. New system definition is definitely working out, power management is good, USB is now good as well. Sound is good, Nvidia drivers loading properly. The one thing that broke is caps lock which is strange. I'm assuming changing the system definition did that...
Thanks, about to do that. Also false alarm on the sound. I forgot to realize that since my Nvidia driver was not loading, no HDMI audio (since it's the same card). I modified the config.plist and now Nvidia loads and I have sound.
Only issues left are the USB limits and caps lock not working.
That's it right there, system booted up without NullCPUPowerManagement. Power management is now working, confirmed through the Intel Power Gadget.
Not using the Nvidia driver anymore, but I assume I just need to do that trick to the config.plist to clear that up.
Two issues have come up...
This is basically what I was getting before when trying to install Sierra. I tried everything and nothing worked. Then someone suggested i remove the -xmpc flag and add NullCPUPowerManagement to the other folder, then I was able to install Sierra. I did later try to add the -xmpc flag and it...
Tried removing the kext, back to square one. It freezes at "system uptime in nanoseconds". So for some reason, it seems my system requires it despite Clover not requiring it. Unless there is something else in my configuration I need to change. I remember before I used that script to generate...
