Thanks & confirmed: Appstore works. New challenge: Multibeast 10.4 install "failed". Reading the log, all is ok, until the bottom, where Fakesmc.kext could not be installed due to a "distrusted certificate". Says:
"Certificate used to sign package is not trusted. Use -allowUntrusted to...
By the way... is it possible, that Apple requires the "last" El Capitan version installed for any higher version like Sierra? No it isn´t... says system requirement for it would be 10.7.5
I checked it through the app store, and all they offer to me is 10.11.6. Current is bit earlier. When I...
Well... after reading a bit in the after El Capitan sections, it now appears I should first update to Sierra and then so on... or even the wrong System definition (like "Mac Pro early 2008", which appears to be no longer supported) may kill it. Looks like a lot of work, and no way to skip all...
Well I found the "Clover EFI" r5157 installer package on sourceforge, and updated to what seemed to be the latest clover version. The UI looks a bit like Multibeast, so I thought "go". All entries left standard. Of course.... now it boots no more. It displays no image or name of the drive to...
...well open core leads to the same questions: what will I do with the old EFI-Volume content (delete it?), and will I have to copy ALL of the new content "as downloaded" into the EFI volume?
And is this really so universally working, that even on my picky sandy bridge system sound and graphics...
The installation guide say "please update clover". I´ve downloaded it - but unlike an installer like in Multibeast, I find only a collection of folders.
Now I COULD copy these into the efi-partition of the drive to be updated. But then.... surely one or the other kext or whatever else would be...
Yeah. After hours and days....
What worked for me: Use Apple Disk Utility to identify what drive is what. Copy old EFI to a folder first, then copy to cloned drive. Reinstall Multibeast in standard mode as UEFI, keep preselections. Reboot twice, if something´s not working. No further changes...
Hello all. My running El Capitan partition was cloned as "full volume" to external drive. I then installed Clover in UEFI mode with the according Multibeast for El Cap. The new drive boots to about 75 % almost finished, then shows this:
"HPETs unavailable.... CPU configured incorrectly"
Now...
yeah - helped myself: after resorting to toleda´s "no sound" thread I realized, that "line-out" is NOT where my speakers are connected: El Cap instead calls the headphone jacks INTERNAL SOUND. So, trying to choose "internal sound", even as your machine may not have any inbuilt speakers, should...
I really need help on this one,
as every script I tried does work technically, but does NOT SOLVE the problem of my sound items on the board not being correctly recognized: Which does work flawlessly in 10.6.8 with the DSDT provided from tonymac.
I got Clover with Unibeast to boot and...
Just realised there´s a few attached downloads at the end of the "guide" here: Probably "kernels.zip" is what tonymacx86 refers to in point 3 of his list?
"3. Copy kernel to /System/Library/Kernels/
4. Create /Extra/Extensions folder
5. Copy FakeSMC.kext and NullCPUPowerManagement.kext to...
