I'm facing the same "black screen" issues in Chrome, in Safari and in some Apps.
Hardware: Z370 Aorus Gaming 5, I7 8700k and the Asus Strix ROG Vega 64 OC.
I'm running the Vega as my main graphics card but have the IGPU activated for Quick Sync etc. (using Lilu+Whatevergreen for

Hi all
just updated to the latest bios version 2501 on the Asus Z97 Deluxe, did a fresh patch of the DSDT.aml and generation of the SSDT.aml.
Now the power management seems to work way better. It still does not get as low as without a SSDT (maybe because of the iMac15,1 smbios definition)...
Will do.
This is the output of sysctl machdep.xcpm:
machdep.xcpm.mode: 1
machdep.xcpm.hard_plimit_max_100mhz_ratio: 44
machdep.xcpm.hard_plimit_min_100mhz_ratio: 8
machdep.xcpm.soft_plimit_max_100mhz_ratio: 44
machdep.xcpm.soft_plimit_min_100mhz_ratio: 8...
Hi RehabMan
I just did a clean download of the ssdtPRGen script and the debug output of this variable is still missing...
Could the problem be, that I am using a custom DSDT with the "windows" patch?
Boris
Hi Rehabman
attached you will find two ZIP files. One without using a SSDT and one with the SSDT generated by ssdtPRGen.sh.
I also saved the output of kextstat as text files in the archives. Please note that only acpiplat produced output.
Kind regards
Boris
Ok, makes sense in regards of the system activity.
I have attached 2 screenshots showing the idle and busy behavior when using no SSDT.
The idle behavior just seems to be better without a SSDT...
Ok, removed the table drops and still works so far. Just does not seem to really often drop under 3ghz a lot. I see now and then a idle drop to around 800mhz, but most of the time around 4ghz.
But maybe this is because I am using the iMac15 definition.
Is it still needed to drop some of the SSDT Tables, using Clover and a proper SSDT file?

Thank you very much for your reply. I did this yesterday already using the Mavericks PM Guide here on the site.
I have the feeling, since using the SSDT, that the system now more likely uses "more power" (more mhz / ratio) than before, without using the SSDT.
But, on the other side, power...
A silly question: But do I even need to have a SSDT.aml file in every case?
I never used one with clover and my systems just seems to work fine (i7 4970k, Asus Z-97, Clover, El Capitan).
Or am I wrong and speedstep might not work correctly etc.?
If I check with HWMonitor or Intel Power...
