Did the EFIStudio thing and it didn't work, so I deleted my networkconfiguration.plist file and everything is working fine. Not sure if deleting the .plist file did the trick or both methods in conjunction worked. I tried deleting the networkconfig.plist file in the past and it didn't work, so I...
Thanks for the prompt response... darn thing didn't work. :-( Clover is still there and it's still very corrupted. I guess I'm going to have to do a complete reinstall unless somebody else chimes in with any ideas.
So I originally had Chimera installed but iMessage broke for me (again) so I decided to give Clover a shot. I followed the following guide on YouTube and it completely corrupted my system: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4MunSmBdM8
I tried reverting back to Chimera but I can only boot into OS X...
You, sir, are a lifesaver. I booted into safe mode using the -x command and ran Chameleon Wizard, but this time I selected MacPro3,1. Booted up and everything is working great. OS X loads up, iMessage/FaceTime works!
Thanks a lot!
So I successfully installed OS X 10.8.4 this morning on my desktop (it was a reinstall to get rid of minor kinks), and all was well. I woke up and realized iMessage and FaceTime stopped working, despite it working fine right after I installed it. I remembered that I once had the same issue, and...
Thanks! I actually had no idea how to get back into OS X. Turns out I just needed to boot into the "OS X" drive through the USB stick again. I managed to fire up MultiBeast again, but I didn't dare touch the audio or Chimera portions, I just selected UserDSDT or DSDT-Free Installation. OS X...
Thanks for the prompt response! I believe I skipped step 4: "4. User DSDT/DSDT Free Installation must be selected whether you have a DSDT or DSDT Free installation. This will install everything you need to boot from your hard drive."
Is there a way to retroactively apply that?
I did a fresh install of OS X 10.8.4, and everything went fairly smoothly. It was hit and miss getting to the installation screen with a GTX 650 in the machine (I was too lazy to take it out and install OS X off the integrated HD 4000), but after countless reboots, it finally worked. OS X...
I'm reserving the tape solution as a last resort. I would prefer being able to condense the amount of loose parts on the computer. If I can somehow get a WiFi + BT combo solution, I would much prefer that.
As for moving the USB dongle to the I/O connectors, I tried that once and noticed that...
My apologies for the late response, but thank you very much. :)
As for those who are running into iMessage issues, I simply changed my serial number using (IIRC) KextWizard and all was well.
I'm currently using a Dell DW1515 card for WiFi and a Kinovo USB dongle for Bluetooth (for my trackpad & KB). The constant flashing of the blue LED (which is on my desk via a USB hub) is getting on my nerves and I'm wondering if there's a better alternative out there than the Dell DW1702 for a...
I've always wanted to know: how does one go about properly installing an updated version of Chimera? Do I just install over it given I never touched the install locations?
Alright, I downloaded Chameleon Wizard, selected the SMBios tab and generated a random serial number. My original serial number checked out valid on Apple's website, but for some reason it just wasn't working. The new serial number works like a charm after rebooting.
I just noticed my iTunes isn't working either, I'm getting error 5002 whenever I try and login. If nothing else works I'm probably going to have to do a clean install.
Ever since I updated to 10.8.4 via the App store (and subsequently via the downloaded Combo Updater due to audio related issues), FaceTime and iMessage no longer function. I reinstalled Chimera to see if it would fix the issue but it did nothing. Am I the only one suffering from this? My iPhone...
