Gigabyte Z390 M Gaming build with working NVRAM

Thanks for this pastrychef! Got my Z390 M Gaming up and running with the OpenCore 0.7.3 files. One issue - system will not sleep. Screen goes back, system "wakes up", but fans don't shut off and power light stays on. pmset -g assertions 2021-10-03 18:30:11 -0700 Assertion status system-wide...

[Guide] HP ProBook/EliteBook/Zbook using Clover UEFI hotpatch (10.11)

I got another identical laptop, save for i5 vs i7, and all your instructions work perfectly on it. I swapped the bios chip from my old motherboard to the eBay one, and the MEI still doesn't show up. Might be something wrong with the Northbridge, but I'm still playing with it.

[Guide] HP ProBook/EliteBook/Zbook using Clover UEFI hotpatch (10.11)

I thought that the regular bios updater on the 70p's updated the ME firmware, since it mentioned about not being able to roll back due to a security change (and from what I've read on Intel ME 8, apparently you can't roll back). I checked in Windows, the Intel ME device doesn't show up, so I...

[Guide] HP ProBook/EliteBook/Zbook using Clover UEFI hotpatch (10.11)

Damn, Intel ME actually makes a difference in Mac OS? I'm going to look into fixing this. Any idea if Intel ME firmware is located in the bios chip in the 8470P? I wonder if creating a backup image of the bios on the old mobo and restoring it on the new one would work... Or even removing the...

[Guide] HP ProBook/EliteBook/Zbook using Clover UEFI hotpatch (10.11)

Beta branch didn't seem to make a difference in boot speed. Actually I noticed that boot time is really slow even before I run any of your script, with only a basic Clover install like used on the installer USB. Using my 1tb hard drive didn't help. I can't seem to see anything in syslog...

[Guide] HP ProBook/EliteBook/Zbook using Clover UEFI hotpatch (10.11)

With Trim disabled via both trimforce and clover, the computer still takes 1:17 to boot from Clover. Benchmarks stayed roughly the same. I previously used this SSD on Yosemite and El Capitan without any issue. I will check the firmware (Edit: I'm on the latest firmware already). I will stop...

[Guide] HP ProBook/EliteBook/Zbook using Clover UEFI hotpatch (10.11)

I've gone through the instructions twice to install Sierra on my 8470p with Intel graphics, and while the machine runs perfectly once booted, the boot process is VERY slow. It takes about a minute twenty to get from Clover to the desktop. The machine is an 8470p with an i7-3520m, 16gb Corsair...

    Fans running with computer unplugged?!?

Update: I tried plugging in a different computer to the same DVI, and it doesn't have the same problem. With my old Mac Pro on the other end it has the same problem, so I suppose I can rule out Desktop 1 being the problem. In addition, with Desktop 2 plugged into the onboard DVI, it doesn't...

Lol yeah, it'd save me some space on the powerbar! Made a video:

    Fans running with computer unplugged?!?

So, after I swapped some parts around between the two machines, it gets a little weirder. I swapped CPU's, drives, and video cards between the two, basically so the gaming machine could be on the MSI and the Hackintosh could be on the Gigabyte board (great move, the MSI was terrible for OSX)...

    Fans running with computer unplugged?!?

Ok, I've got a weird gremlin going on here. Recently I noticed that my video card and power supply fans would continue running when I put the computer to sleep. Made a little noise, but they honestly spun pretty slow so I didn't worry about it. Then, today, I powered the computer off to swap...

HP EliteBook 8470P with AMD: Success on 10.11.4 with sleep/wake issue

I'm also having the same issue with sleep on my 8470P, specs in my sig. I followed the instructions qqqyyy posted, which did help greatly in getting this machine running, so thanks! From my testing, it's not just that the screen stays black - after attempting to wake, the system doesn't...
