Here you go.
I still haven't figured out the 4K video issue that this thread is about.
Also, all of the other Surface Pro 4 guides that I have seen don't require the use of EmuVariable. There was a time when I could boot without it, but that has since changed and I have no idea why. You can...
Looked at that WhateverGreen guide and combed through the source code to see if patching the framebuffer flags for a given ig-platform-id value was possible but couldn't find anything indicating so -- maybe I just missed it. I tried looking at doing it manually via find and replace, but couldn't...
Can that still be done through the device properties entries and generated by FBPatcher or do I have to do it through the old find and replace kext patches?
Thanks for all the feedback
Tried using the connectors from 0x19270004 to patch 0x19160000 but the behavior wasn't changed at all. I fiddled around with all different combinations of ig-platform-id values and connector patches, but the behavior of each one was unchanged for the most part. Seems like the connectors flags...
I tried all of the ig-platform-id values from this list that I got from FBPatcher for the Skylake platform:
0x191E0000 (mobile, 3 connectors) #
0x19160000 (mobile, 3 connectors) #
0x19260000 (mobile, 3 connectors) #
0x19270000 (mobile, 3 connectors) #
0x191B0000 (mobile, 3 connectors) #...
In my original post I mentioned trying both the -cdfon flag, the enableHDMI20 property, and then trying both together. I just tried again, but it's still the same. Is the -cdfon flag dependent on anything other than WhateverGreen or Lilu for it to work correctly..?
Hey all,
I've been wracking my brain for the past three days or so since I received my new Sceptre U275W-4000R monitor from Amazon as I have been unable to run the display at its full potential of 4K @60Hz on my macOS installation.
Currently, the monitor is running 4K @30Hz over mini...
Go to /Extra and open the com.apple.Boot.plist file. In there should be a string that says something like "InstantMenu" and then the value as "Yes". Change the yes to "No". If that's not the case...then i'm not sure.
This is probably because the Core i7 isn't supported by the kernel on the Mac OS X install image on your usb drive. Do you have an iBoot disc? if you do, try booting from the disc and then select your usb drive. You may need to delete the chameleon bootloader off of the usb stick for it to work...
Well I have done numerous fresh installs and have always attempted to update to 10.6.7. The update installer ends in success and then i switch to Multibeast and install userDSDT, system utilites, and NVEnabler. It always ends with the same result of being unable to boot from the hard drive...
