[Boot/Graphics] Acer Iconia W700 Tablet [Solved]

Thanks for the advice, I was able to achieve that by using EFI Shell to hard set the 96MB DVMT-Prealloc requirement since that option is locked in my BIOS. I was able to decrypt/extract the Acer Iconia w700 InsydeH2O® UEFI BIOS v2.14 and obtain the entire DVMT pre-alloc table. I've attached...

[Boot/Graphics] Acer Iconia W700 Tablet [Solved]

Hi @RehabMan , I was able to successfully get the Graphics Acceleration working by changing the ig-platform-id to 0x01660001 which technically translates to Intel HD4000 -> Mobile 4 Ports, 1 LVDS (Display Notebook), 1 HDMI, 2 DP. I've updated config.plist and will proceed to patch dsdt with...

[Boot/Graphics] Acer Iconia W700 Tablet [Solved]

Hi @RehabMan , I tried injecting EDID and unfortunately the same thing still happens. It continues to hang while booting OS and MAC OS Installer. With EDID injected, the system stops responding and hangs after (gIOscreenLockState 3, 0, 0). Any idea what's happening here ?

[Boot/Graphics] Acer Iconia W700 Tablet [Solved]

Thank you @RehabMan for your response. I followed the clover guide in the link above and as per the list of config.plist files, I chose/tested the ones that closely match my hardware, either: - HD4000 using 0x01660004 or - HD4000 using 0x01660003 Both result in the same thing. The system...

[Boot/Graphics] Acer Iconia W700 Tablet [Solved]

Hi @RehabMan , As requested, please see the attached zip files for your kind review and advice. Please note, that I had to use a false Intel Graphic IG_Platform ID to boot. I used 0x012345678. If I were to let it to default to 0x1660004 as in the config.plist, it would not boot and hang midway...

[Boot/Graphics] Acer Iconia W700 Tablet [Solved]

I have been researching how to get this Windows Tablet to work with Mac OS Sierra, and I got most of the hardware up and running except for the cursed HD4000 graphics acceleration. I'll start off by listing my Acer Iconia W700 hardware specs: ■ CPU: IvyBridge Intel Core i5 3777U @ 1.8Ghz ■...

Question for @RehabMan Should I move the remainder of this conversation, future findings, and steps to the Laptops/Sierra Support sub-forum by creating a separate thread for it ? Or do I continue posting my findings here considering that my entire work is based on Sierra ?

While trying different MediaTek kexts to get my mini USB Wifi adapter to work, I researched the built-in WIFI/BT module that comes with the Acer Iconia W700 motherboard. The Iconia W700 comes with an non-replaceable (soldered to motherboard) Qualcomm Atheros ar5bmd222 WIFI/BT module which...

Thanks RehabMan. I'm still unable to get MacOS to boot if I use any of those prepackaged plists. When booting with -v, it'll say DMOS has arrived! and then hang. When using the Intel HD4000 1600x900 config.plist, the graphics ID is getting injected as 0x00000000. What I'm doing now is having to...

So I thought I'd write back and let everyone know where I've landed with getting Hackintosh on the Acer Iconia W700. Throughout the entire process, I've learned so much about the differences between MBR/EFI and how the UEFI firmware in the Acer Iconia W700 reacts to different OSes. Glad to...

I'm not an expert in MAC OS, but I've always been dual booting windows and Android on the W700 Core i5 model. I would really like try this out, but I'm not an expert with MAC OS, and so most of the instructions here would require a high level of skill with MAC OS / Clover / UniBeast. In the...
