    Robbish's 8yr old ATX IvyBridge Hackintosh GA-Z77-DS3H - i5-3570K - HD 4000 [OpenCore/macOS Big Sur]

Hey @Robbish, thanks for the reply! I did not think about Haswell SMBIOS affecting it, you are probably right. I used the -turbo command on Ivy SMBIOS as well then so perhaps that was not even necessary. It's unfortunate about your DS3H, my Z77 is also having weird issues, reaching it's use...

    Robbish's 8yr old ATX IvyBridge Hackintosh GA-Z77-DS3H - i5-3570K - HD 4000 [OpenCore/macOS Big Sur]

Very detailed guide, nice job! I have a similar setup (ga-z77x-ud5h + 3770K). Found this thread while searching for some opencore config comparison for my board. So I noticed you mention that "SSDT P-States: 39, 40, 41 and 42" don't work for you. If that's still the case, you might want to...

GTX 980 Causing Random Freezes and Reboots

This. I've been having this issue since updating to Sierra a while back. Tried different things, PM, bios, RAM test/swap, even removed my OC. I have a dual boot system with Windows 10 which runs fine, no issues there. Last week I finally decided to do a clean install and upgrade to High...

Idling for 10 minutes causes Sierra to lag/freeze for a couple of minutes

Had similiar issue with Spotlight, not sure if com.apple.mediaanalysisd caused it though. Anyway, I got it working again with the following: sudo mdutil -i off / sudo rm -rf /.Spotlight* sudo rm -rf /.metadata_never_index sudo mdutil -i on / sudo mdutil -E /...

I believe that redefining system will probably mess stuff up, at least that's my experience when I tried something with Mac Pro x instead, perhaps going from 14.2 > 13.2 is different. However, I think what you need is to create a custom SSDT for your CPU. I had the similar experience, issue...

Just updated to macOS Sierra (from latest El Capitan 10.11.6) via App Store. Everything seems to be working fine, including sound and power management . I was prepared to do a clean install after some fails but this seems to be one of the smoothest upgrades so far for me. Not sure if it's...

I tried using those kexts myself once, it fixed my second front USB port but all USB ports got slower speed and external HDD drives were recognized as internal. I have power management in order, so I don't think that should be an issue for 3.0 speeds to be honest, at least not in my case...

If you're still having problems with it, take a look at the recent desktop USB fix thread here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/general-help/179201-customac-desktop-usb-fixes-os-x-10-11-el-capitan-reference.html First post refers to both files mentioned (FakePCIID.kext and FakePCIID_XHCIMux.kext)...

How did you managed to overclock with iMac 13,2? When I tried it didn't work out so I returned to Mac Pro 3,1. Thanks!

Hi, Until I tried El Capitan install and came across this guide I never used (custom) SSDT myself. If I understand it correctly now, it's about fine tuning / improving power management for your specific CPU, less power usage in idle and lower temps overall. I mostly paid attention to stuff...

Thanks for the info! I switched back to Mac Pro 3.1 SMBIOS for now. Tested few different OC options, got it running on 4.2Ghz. System somehow feels snappier than with iMac 13.2. Power management does suck with Mac Pro but that's fine for now haha (will figure it out later, I've been reading...
