I can confirm that the USB sound adapter worked; I'm happy with that - it gives me 3.5 jack's so that will do me. That just leaves me with a couple of general niggles and questions.
1. My mouse currently won't hover over anything - it clicks and right clicks fine, but it won't hover. I'm using...
Where are you getting that info from? When searching the IOReg for HDEF, the VendorID I'm seeing is 0x10ec0892 ; which I understand to be Realtek ALC 892, and what I expected to see (from reading the Asus Website).
The files I uploaded were prior to me trying HDMI (using the cloverHDMI tool...
Thanks; I still can't get USB to work with my headset but I've ordered the USB to 3.5mm jack sound card/adapter from the CustoMac buying guide - due to arrive tomorrow. If that works, I can Mac happy. If not I guess I'll have a bigger problem and might look at buying a new 6/7 series mobs.
Followed the steps to use the command file and reboot.
My output is the same every time - always says it isn't installed/enabled.
Attached log.
As for USB devices - should they just work? What am I doing wrong there- is it something in my config?
Same problem, no devices showing up.
Toleda has mentioned in another post that P67 mobo won't work with the 3xxx BIOS; which could explain my issue with the normal ports - but he's said HDMI should work with the HDMI fix (which I've tried) - and that USB should work.
I can't even see my USB...
Can't get that working either. I don't see a guide for USB audio devices - should that work straight out the box? Because my USB headset isn't showing up either and I'd settle for just that.
Damn. That's unfortunate.
What's my likelihood of getting something like this to work (I've seen it before on the CustoMac buying guide) - or even installing a sound card - or will the BIOS still mess me about?
I think I could downgrade to 2xxx with little to no problem but I'm taking it as a...
Hi Toleda,
I'm having audio issues; I used the cloverALC method and my hardware info is up to date in my profile.
I don't seem to be able to run DPCIManager - it doesn't give me an error it just... doesn't do anything...
Under my hardware screenshots you'll notice no devices in Audio.
One is...
I've attached all the relevant files. Nothing actually shows up under Hardware > Audio > Devices. Which is interesting because the boot log shows the audio device for HDMI out.
Fixed my problem perfectly, I think it was the SIP that did it, behaved very differently after that.
I think the very last thing on my TODO list is to install Audio drivers. I attempted to follow this but the Multibeast tool wouldn't install my ALC892 driver - it just came up with an error -...
Perhaps worth mentioning I tried removing the Inject Intel & adding Inject nVidia flags - this changed the problem from a black/grey screen into having no video output at all.
I'm so close I can taste it! So close!
I'm now booting from the drive itself without the need for the USB.
I followed this link for a guide to installing the latest nVidia Drivers.
They installed successfully and all looks good, until I remove "nv_disable=1" from my boot args.
With the drivers...
