I did find a work-around... I used AOMEI Backupper ubackup.com from my windows drive, and simply cloned the disk. It boots and works flawlessly, I don't know if I can continue to use CCC now that the backup boots again, but I will give it a try on the next point release. CCC has always worked...
CCC has always
CCC has always worked for me, I have used the same EFI post script I've used since Mojave, and Ventura is the first where the backup was no longer bootable.
I used CCC 6.1.3 and it would not boot. It shows the EFI partition in the menu but not the OS. I haven't tested CCC again since I have the clone working, but I am planning on it with next point release.
After updating I took a backup and that backup succeeded but that backup fails to boot. It hangs on a black screen for a while and then loops back to POST. Anybody have any success using CCC with 13? I haven't tried since 13.0.1 will update after I try again.
Backup shows up as EFI disk and just hangs at boot. I'm on latest 6.1.3 CCC version. Ventura 13.0 I completely erased the disk, and started over. Still using the original EFIClose.sh script that I've been using since Mojave.
Okay your post made me feel a lil bad, because I always just guestimated the time, so I actually put a stop watch on it, and it’s actually 13.3s from picker to desktop.
I would assume Trim is enabled, not sure how to check, I do kinda remember a step in the build guide to set it, but not sure since switching to OC. But yeah 10s from picker to desktop. Sad thing is that trying to make the Evo my new backup drive failed. I can barely get disk utility to format...
FIXED: Switched from Samsung 970 Pro to Western Digital BLACK SN750 1TB ::
WDS100T3X0C-00SJG0

Things I Tried:
Update Samsung Firmware.
I just found this thread... Twas after I already started a fresh backup, gonna let this one finish see if it works, if not follow the rest of this guide n start over. Looks like I may need to go into Legacy mode on CCC and select an "Allow Erase Back-up" option, although this seems like it is...

Just updated my GigaByte Designiare 9900K Golden build to 11.4 and a little more than half way through my RX 470 stopped being the primary monitor and it switched to my Asus RX 6800 XT. Post update I removed the RX 470 and tested acceleration and was getting 120+ fps in Valley...
UPDATE: Unplugged RX 6800XT, upgraded to Big Sur 11.2.2. Plugged back in and I'm all good again. But actual fix turned out to be setting the BIOS to initial GPU slot 3 for the RX470.
Yeah I wasn't planning on running my 6800XT as primary, using RX470 for that, but even with it installed it won't boot into Big Sur. I have to unplug it in order to boot normally. I used to have an nvidia card in that slot, and it was just disabled, not sure if theres a way to soft disable the...
Running a Big Sur Open Boot build with windows on a second drive. Recently replaced my Nvidia 1070 card with a Radeon 6800XT and looks like I need to disable it somehow because OSXI just hangs on load screen. I'm running the Designiare Golden Build apart from this, and I thought the Nvidia card...
