So what I've done was:
1-Backup AppleTyMCEDriver.kext from S/L/E then erased it.
2-Change SMBios.plist to MacPro4,1
3-Open Console and filter text to 'AGPM'
Nothing showed on the searched for AGPM so I think its not loading. I already repaired permissions and booted ignoring caches..
PS: I'm...
I'm loving Lion. Its stable and smooth. Some graphical transitions as going to dashboard, going to FullScreen app or quitting from it are laggy.
My Cinebench score with MacPro3,1 and my MSI GTX460 HAWK is 22.61fps. Im looking forward to see if it can be improved. :)
I forgot how to change to...
Hi scorcho,
I'm currently on Lion GM too. Did you installed any new driver from Nvidia website? Since my first Lion boot I got my card recognized and everything works nice.
I'm asking this because I want to install CUDA and I'm not sure if I need to install any other quadro4000 driver.
I got...
Lets test it then! I'm already with the updates and still sweet and smooth.
EDIT: Just got a Freeze after about 1 hour. Only with web browsing and some simple programs like adobe reader. I'm still using the modified AGPM.kext provided in this topic.
Perhaps staying in the same GPU state for too...
The only things I can read on the Release Highlights about fixes are:
-Contains performance improvements for a wide range of applications.
-Contains fixes for several corruption and crash bugs, including issues with Autodesk Mudbox, and World of Warcraft.
I never played WOW on mac but those...
No need to do that.. Every Lion testers ensure that the Freeze issue is gone in 10.7 due to some new drivers from Nvidia. (that work exclusively on Lion :x )
I'm gonna wait for 10.7 and enjoy my GTX460..
Until then: Wallsaver as a temporary solution.
You're not doing anything wrong. Its just that this is not a real fix. By changing AGPM.kext we are fixing part of the problem. There are other things that are freezing our systems related with our GPUs. With this fix I got about 4 days clean without any freeze but when the 5th day arrived...
Don't forget to repair permissions after rebooting with 32bit. Do it with KextUtility so it erases caches and compile kexts to 32bit system.
Don't forget to report then. :)
So, I've been one of the first testers of this fix.
Before trying this fix I had to do a fresh install because I erased my the previous SnowLeo.
After fresh install (100%Vanilla), I installed MultiBeast with chimera and MacPro3,1. After that I installed the last AGPM.kext (with KextUtility)...
It wasn't loading for me too while I got iMac11,1 in my SMBios. I changed to MacPro4,1, back up AppleTyMCEDriver.kext, repair permissions and reboot. Only then I got AGPM loading.
There.
I've noticed that since I tested the states changing with a youtube HD video @1080p the state never changed from 2 to 1.
Anyway its working well :D
5 hours since the install of the previous AGPM.kext and about 1h45m with the last AGPM kext that you provided.
The previous attempts to fix this I get about 1 to 2 hours max. I notice that with this fix there's no lag in dock and errors in "fullscreening" youtube videos.
I must say that the...
