True but doesn't change this part: "A series of new available positions advertised by Nvidia seek software engineers for the company's Mac graphics drivers team. Qualified applicants should have experience with Apple's Metal cross-platform application programming interface, featured on new Macs...
Guys, I think it's only a matter of time: http://appleinsider.com/articles/16/09/26/nvidia-working-with-apple-on-graphics-for-revolutionary-new-mac-products
The rumor is the new Mac Pro's will be powered by Nvidia (most likely Pascal architecture). If so, we may have some sort of hope here.
What if the copy of Mavericks I have installed is already partitioned as MBR? Is there anyway to convert the MBR to GUID?
I cannot repartition the HD as I currently also have Windows 8 dual-booting and don't want to reinstall that as well.
I followed Tony's guide and upon trying to install over my current Mavericks installation I receive this error: a GUID partitioning table is required
Now I know I formatted my USB drive to MBR according to the Unibeast instructions. Does that need to change? Do I need to repartition my OS X...
Alright well for anyone else in the same boat, I had to boot with Unibeast to Chimera and from there was able to get into my Mavericks partition. Then I used Multibeast to just reinstall Chimera. Very simple.
Now I'm updating 10.9 to the latest via App Store update, hope it works.
This USB stick is a piece of crap, guys. The signal is so bad it's unusable. I cannot connect to the network in my office or at my house (can't on Windows either, not a driver issue), but my native wifi card picks it up at full speed.

My native mobo Wifi card isn't Mavericks compatible but...
No, don't erase the drive with your Windows partition on it, just the partition where you want to install Mavericks. I did the same thing and am successfully dual booting Windows 8 and Mavericks.
I had a similar problem on my other computer. I found installing the network drivers for my mobo (even though I use a USB wireless) solved my problem with logging into iCloud and the App Store.
