OK! I think I've solved this issue for my setup. I looked around for different versions of the IONetworkingFamily.kext file... the version installed with ML is 3.0. I was able to find a 2.1 version, and rolling this back made everything work as normal again. Also, I've seen other folks...

I've had the happen when the USB drive is formatted in GUID format. This motherboard will not POST or go through any boot process with a GUID USB stick installed. Format the drive MBR when you create it, and give it another shot.
