I'll start this off by saying I am entirely new to this, planning to get a dual boot setup with OS X and Windows 10 on separate SSDs. Following some guides, I managed to get myself an install of High Sierra 10.13.5 onto an empty, correctly formatted SSD. Booting from my Installer USB drive works...
