Higher HDD Temps due to G5 HDD bays ?

Here's what I finally did : I bought a 60mm fan which I fixed with velcro next to the HDDs , temps are ok now. :) Concerning the airflow in the case itself I think i'll stay with 2 fans , 1 on the ventirad and another one on the back.

Higher HDD Temps due to G5 HDD bays ?

Thanks . I just mount one of my 120mm fan at the back of the case ( on the original back fans grid ) and now my hdd temps seems to be cooler . I guess that only the help of the back fan creates enough airflow to get the drives cooler. stilligFox, have you any tip to mount an 80mm fan near the...

Higher HDD Temps due to G5 HDD bays ?

Hi everybody. :) I just finished my g5 case mod today and I managed to keep the original hard drives bays from the case which is nice and I'm happy with it. :headbang: But I noticed that my hdd temps are a bit higher since. I got 2 WD Caviar Blue which used to run at 30-35 °C when they were in...

OS X 10.10 Yosemite unveiled at WWDC

I'm not saying that os updates fail everytime. :) What I'm trying to say is : To me, many hackintoshers who managed to get a fully working/stable build don't wanna try to update because they fear to screw everything. Even if they have backups etc... In particular when you need a specific...

OS X 10.10 Yosemite unveiled at WWDC

Totally agree, I think lots of people like me who need to work with their hackintoshes don't even wanna try Mavericks because there's too much headaches, so " No way ! " is the word !

Pro Tools Editing with video - GPU needed ?

I tested DNxHD and ProRes 422 , both audio uncompressed . DNxHD : 829 Mo ProRes 422 : 1,47 Go ProRes works fine in PT but DNxHD shows a black screen video , that's weird cause the conversion didn't failed cause I can play the video in Finder or Quicktime Player. Anyway, I'll stick with ProRes...

Pro Tools Editing with video - GPU needed ?

I got it I tend to work in the industry in the next years, I'm completing my studies for now. Already had several " professionnal " projects video with which everything was ok. On the other hand I also receive "non professionnal " QT exports from other student, that's why I got h264. Thanks a...

Pro Tools Editing with video - GPU needed ?

Thanks joebingo So your opinion is that I don't need a dedicated gpu ? Would adding a gpu solve the problem or not if in the future I get h264 or other codecs that make Pro Tools turns slow ?

Pro Tools Editing with video - GPU needed ?

Hi I built my hack about a year ago and everything is running fine ( thanks to this great community ) . I use Pro Tools 10 with Moutain Lion almost everyday to do some sound editing based on video but depending on the video quality . With DV video for instance I ain't got any problem but with...

[First Hackintosh] How to not over-spend, and how to stay quiet?

Hi I don't think the motherboards listed in the Customac mATX includes Thunderbolt ports. I think you need to get a full size motherboard which is way more expensive to get Thunderbolt. Concerning midi, I see that you do audio production ( to which extent ? ) I suggest to get an externel audio...
