Did you run Multibeast after updating to 10.6.4? Also, you should check which kexts you are using and if they are compatible with your system.

I experienced the same thing on a core i3 350m cpu. It happened every time I used the iBoot nVidia disc. Try iBoot ATI using the busratio=xx (varies with each processor) before booting the MAC OS X. That did the trick for me. Also the -x booting option for safe mode might be an option. Try it...
