So I still haven't solved this issue, windoze updated and has messed up my boot order and I'm going to have to I spend some time sorting that out on the weekend.
I was playing around with the thunderbolt settings to see if I can get the eGPU to display on boot.
I managed to get the clover menu...
I have them on separate drives. For some reason windows would start to boot and just hang every time.
I tried to boot from it on a MacBook pro/Bootcamp to see if it would and no dice. I think my install got corrupted so I ended up re-installing Windows. Annoying but I only use Windoze for gaming...
Wondering if anyone can help.
After reading on this thread that BIOs versions had been updated fine, I went ahead and updated to Bios version 83. My Hack still works (albeit with the previous quirks I hoped it'd remove still there) - but now my Windows partition won't boot.
Was on Clover 5119...
Hi all - I've been using my Bean Canyon since the start of lockdown with a fair amount of success, the only thing not working generally is Wifi and Thunderbolt hotplugging (not hugely important).
I dualboot with windows, I made sure I separated the drives entirely as - in the past a windows...
Fairly smooth update on Intel NUC8i7BEH3 with Sapphire 5700 in a Razor Core X EGPU via Thunderbolt....
Updated from 10.15.1 on Clover 5017:
Dragged new Lilu & Whatevergreen kexts into my EFI.
Installed through system update pop up.
2 reboots, straight back in - this definitely feels snappier
Attached is my bios setup, we have very similar boards.
You can see from this that Internal graphics are enabled but not the primary graphics.
I injected Intel Graphics and use the Lilu kext for my RX 570. I use my Dell 4K display as a primary and an iPad as a second display with Duet Display...
Do you have your GPU still set as the primary?
My motherboard has igpu + pci slot 1 enabled and the pci set as primary graphics.
I must admit I'm not too sure with the 270x.
Your ideal setup is for the internal graphics to be enabled but not in use. Are you using the lilu kext?
I'm away from...
Hi all,
As others have encountered - I do the update for 10.13.2 through the App Store, boots into a screen that says updating '2 mins remaining'.
A soon as the machine reboots into clover I select 'boot Install Mac OS from Boot SSD' - it moves the bar along and just never goes any further, no...
Unsure why it would identify as a dual core rather than quad. That is pretty odd.
To check if QuickSync is enabled:
Download MacX Video Converter (Trial is fine) - there is a Hardware Encoder option on the main screen.
Hit the 'i" button, it should say 'Hardware Encoding Supported: Yes' and...
The 630 integrated graphics will output 4k just fine - depending on your motherboard and monitor you may be limited to 30hz with HDMI 1.4. Unsure if HDMI 2.0 works with Mac OS (I couldn't be wrong).
EDIT: HDMI 2.0 will not work at 60hz with Mac OS.
The 1050 is a decent enough card and is...
Update - I've got myself onto 17,1. It's still not close to what I've seen other systems using.
During geekbench it's showing that during some tasks the processor is hitting 4.5, but not an awful lot, most of it seems well down around 2/3ghz. The temperatures are nice and cool, around 35/40...
