    3D Printing

I'm a Product Designer at a Light Manufacturer. Before I joined, 3D prints were done by ARRK Europe (who are pretty great). The prints were high quality but expensive. So before me, printed parts would only come in when a high budget project demanded such parts, otherwise it's traditional...

    3D Printing

Wow, RepRap, your brave. Life as it is I can't justify getting a 3D printer at home, but I have one at work. A MB Rep2, that I negotiated work into getting at the beginning of the year. I'm glad we got the Rep2 over the latest stuff from MakerBot. The Rep2 has matured well and doesn't suffer...

    Folding@Home

Hi everyone, Was wondering does the tonymac community actually have a folding team? If not, I think it would be a great team to start one and help medical research with our (more than capable) machines. http://folding.stanford.edu/ :)

    First Hackintosh Build

Cheers for the reply. I actually built it a few weeks ago and it's running like a champ. The only thing that doesn't work for me is Sleep Mode, but really that's a non-issue for me, if I'm not using the computer then it's switched off  I plan on overclocking this at some point, so...

Help! Can't install Mac os X Lion

Try updating to 10.6.8, make sure to have the MacPro 3,1 definition installed  I suggest reading up on how people upgraded to 10.6.8 first. You might need to use Tonymac's Update helper, http://www.tonymacx86.com/1010110101/UpdateHelper.zip Reboot, then upgrade to 10.6.8.

Intel Core i7, only one core shows up

The DSDT is for your Motherboard, so the OS can utilise more of its functions, allowing it to work more efficiently. Did you install the necessary kexts in Multibeast to support your i7? :)

    ALC889 Background Noise

Cool. My oldman has a Pro-Ject Genie Mk3. They're stuff is pretty awesome design-wise, anything that helps create a Dieter Rams-esque world is good in my book

Here's my rig, I was surprised that I put it together properly considering so many first time builders get it wrong. Glad I built it, it's so fast compared to the MacBook Pros that I've been relying on for a while now  Specs: NZXT Phantom Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD4-B3 i5 2500K Noctua NH-D14...

    ALC889 Background Noise

Sure thing, but I doubt it would be pretty. Perhaps something along the lines of wrapping the front audio cable in foil then wrapping that in something nonconductive. A bit of a bodge job  I noticed you're running a M-Audio Audiophile 192, how did you get that to work in 10.6 or possibly...
