Any idea why my config is ignoring the SSDT-UIAC.aml file that I put in ACPI/patched?

Yes, they are different things. Hardware Encoding helps with faster rendering times in apps such as Final Cut Pro X, Davinci Resolve... If you don't use them, you don't need Hardware Encoding.
In addition to the iMac14,1 system definition, you might also need the GFX0 to IGPU patch mentioned...
Not sure about Nvidia CUDA support (as there are no drivers for my 1070 yet) but I can safely say that the Intel Quick Sync detection is correct.
I'm a wedding videographer and I earn my living from FCPX. It's pretty easy to notice that there's no hardware encoding when the same project takes...
It means Intel Quick Sync is disabled. If you click the blue (i) button you will see that you don't have any hardware encoding support. You will need to find a way to activate it via patches, DSDT etc.
Let me know if you get it working 'cause it's disabled on my system as well and I tried...
I'd rather use the IGPU than buy an AMD card just for FCPX, if only I could get the damn Intel Quick Sync working.
One thing I noticed on my previous build (w/ i7-2600k and GTX 780) is that even though it felt snappier while editing, it was almost 5-6 times slower than my Late 2013 rMBP when...
I think the main difference between our setups is the SMBIOS. You are using a MacbookAir one and I'm using iMac17,1.
Renaming GFX0 to IGPU is supposed to fix this issue but for some reason it isn't.
According to this guy here who has a similar setup to mine (...
Thanks for checking but it's still not working for me even after following the guide you linked. Well the OP updated his fix to v3 but I doubt it's relevant.
Downloaded your config.plist from another post and comparing it to mine right now. I'll post back the results tomorrow.
Thanks for helping.
Thank you, this patched fixed the glitch on the top left corner for me. Unfortunately I still can't get the Hardware Encoding (Intel Quick Sync) to work though. Exporting a video from FCPX is painfully slow without Quick Sync.
