@CaseySJ ,
Well you hit the nail on the head as usual :). I don't need WiFi since the machine has a wired ethernet connection, so I thought I would turn off AirportItiwm and see if the installer from the Flash Drive would boot. Indeed it does and I'm re-installing 14.3 now. Guess I'll try...
Yes, using Intel WiFi. Using Sonoma version of AirportItlwm. Here is my list of ktexts and what is turned on. I did play with Secure Boot when booting Linux in BIO, but I made sure it was turned off in the BIOS and still have these issues (have no idea if that is related in any way). My...
@CaseySJ, I downloaded a version of 14.4 from gibMacOS and put it on a flash drive with my EFI folder which is configured for OC 9.3. I also reconfigured the BIOS as noted in first few posts. I also made sure SecureBoot was off both in BIOS and in OC. Now I'm unable to boot this disk as well...
I built a flash drive as a Sonoma 14.4.1 install disk and put both oc 9.2 and oc 9.3 in the EFI partition. Tried using both to boot from the install drive. Neither worked for me. Would not boot correctly. For me seems like something in the 14.1.1 update is conflicting with my OC...
I have possibly similar problem. Using OC 0.9.3 and was booting Sonoma fine. Did the upgrade to 14.4.1 (which I don’t know if it finished correctly). Now neither 14.4.1 nor 14.4.1 recovery will boot from flash drive with OC 0.9.3. I can boot the Ventura backup from flash and it boots fine...
I seem to remember having the problem of it rebooting after about half way through after the update from Ventura to Sonoma. I’m on OC 0.9.3. What I remember is that I had to install Sonoma from scratch. Works now.
Well I'm not correct about waking in Ventura. That doesn't wake the monitor either (USBMap) vs Sonoma (SDDT-UIAC-VISION-D2_INTEL-BT.aml). I have one monitor Dell 27" model AW2720HF monitor connected via HDMI to HDMI iGPU port on motherboard. I also have a DP cable plugged into the DP port of...
Hey CaseySJ. Thanks for taking a look at this. According to the link I enclosed on how to update 9.2 to 9.3 all three of those new kexts were needed by MacOS 14 which is why I downloaded them and turned them on. First one is named CpuFriend.kext. I've turned the off. Still boots and works...
CaseySJ et al. I was running OC 9.2 with Ventura on Z490 Vision D and wanted to update to Sonoma and read that I had to update OC to 9.3. I followed the directions in this post https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/how-to-opencore-0-9-2-0-9-3-differences.325989/ and used CaseySJ's "Sonoma...
Need some help. I upgraded my OC to 0.9.1, and I can boot Mac OS X 13.2 with both Ethernet and wireless working. But I've found out that I cannot log into the Apple Store any longer because my Ethernet connection is en2 not en0. See System Info and IORegistry attached. There must be...
Casey,
I updated to OC 0.9.1 EFI. (I think I did it correctly but not entirely sure.) I applied your patch. My backup is macOS 13.2, and my main drive is OS 13.3. I'm booting my new EFI from a USB drive. What I see is that WiFi and Ethernet work fine at OS 13.2, but when I boot from my main...
